Listen to orchestral performances, jazz shows, chamber music recitals and experimental sounds at this beautifully designed modern concert hall.

Luxembourg’s Philharmonie, also known as the Grande-Duchesse Joséphine-Charlotte Concert Hall, is a superbly designed venue on Luxembourg City’s picturesque Kirchberg plateau. Designed by architect Christian de Portzamparc and opened in 2005, the Philharmonie Luxembourg is the home of the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra. It also hosts touring performers from around the world. Visit Philharmonie Luxembourg to attend one of its concerts or simply to admire its elegant architecture.

Enter the Grand Auditorium by passing through a façade constructed out of 823 white steel columns giving the appearance of a filter. Reach the auditorium from the foyer via a network of ramps, stairs and footways. The Grand Auditorium can accommodate 1,500 patrons and features superb acoustics for enjoying performances by orchestras, ensembles and vocal groups. It has a 6,768-pipe organ for symphonic organ repertoires.

See a more intimate performance in the Salle de Musique de Chambre, a shell-shaped chamber music hall located outside the main building, next to the box office.

The third performance space is the Espace Découverte, a basement venue used for electronic and experimental music performances. Watch films, video art screenings and documentaries in this modern space. Join a workshop or bring the kids to participate in a special event for children. Attend one of the Philharmonie Luxembourg’s annual festivals, including the Rainy Days contemporary music festival in November and the Luxembourg Festival, which is a collaborative event with the Théâtres de la Ville of Luxembourg.

Guided tours in French, German and Luxembourgian offer additional insight into the magnificent venue. The venue has two dining facilities. Enjoy a luxurious pre-concert dinner at the restaurant or stop at the foyer bar for mezzo-style snacks and drinks before and after the show.

The Philharmonie Luxembourg is located in the historic Kirchberg quarter, overlooking the Parc des Trois Glands, a short distance from Fort Thüngen and the Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean (Mudam). Local buses stop nearby. Check online or visit the box office to view a seasonal programme and book tickets.
