Killington area home - 4-seasons & hot tub. Sleeps 12+

Set on a private road in the forested hills just north of Pittsfield, our house welcomes you - in all seasons. Right in the heart of the Northeast’s best winter-sports, it is about 10 miles to the Killington and Pico ski resorts. Sugarbush, Okemo, and the famous Mad River Glen are all within easy reach for day trips.

Killington ski lifts are open for mountain bikers in the off season. For golfers, Vermont’s #1 public golf course, Green Mountain National, is only ten minutes away, and in addition to Killington's own course, there are a surprising number of other courses within a half hour’s drive.

The house is a comfortable and spacious (2,000+ sq.ft) three-bedroom contemporary split into four levels. It’s a perfect place to relax and have fun whether you’re on your own or with a group. With the large living area, the dining room and the den on different levels, the house caters to large numbers of people yet still affords privacy. While you soak up the heat of the big fieldstone fireplace upstairs, the gang could be watching TV or playing games downstairs.

The spacious 2-level deck on the back of the house features the most recent addiction - a 6 person spa/hot-tub for relaxing and soothing muscles after a day of hiking, biking, skiing, boarding, running... The deck adds summertime living space and is great for outdoor dining with a gas grill, charcoal BBQ and picnic table. There is also a balcony stretching across the front of the house that offers picturesque views of the forest and valley to the sound of the nearby brook.

The kitchen is big enough for family eat-in, and the dining room seats 10-12. The two upper levels are exceptionally bright and airy with high cathedral ceilings and numerous skylights.

The two bedrooms on the lower middle level sleep 3 & 4 respectively and share a full bath. The master bedroom on the lower ground level sleeps 5 and has its own bathroom.

In addition to the beds in the bedrooms, there is a sofa-sleeper (double) in the den and another sofa-sleeper (single) the living area. When all the beds are full to capacity, the house can take a maximum of 15 people.

Though the ski areas and golf courses are probably the main attractions, there are a number of activities available right from the doorstep. Picturesque hiking/snowshoeing trails lead straight from the house into the Green Mountain National Forest. There are other trails nearby (no need to drive) that are suitable for cross country skiing or mountain biking. And if you’re into something even more vigorous, the Vermont snowmobile trail network (VAST) is accessible from less than a half mile away. The historic Appalachian Trail network as well as the Long Trail are accessible for hiking from within a few miles away. In autumn, the area is a "leaf-peeper's" paradise (1st few weeks of October are best).

In addition to the above, there are facilities for tennis, racquetball, bungee jumping (yikes!), alpine slide, swimming, fishing streams, kayaking, tubing, music, theater, shopping, and any number of other activities nearby.

Note that this is not intended to be a "party house." Outdoor noise monitoring devices are in operation on the premises in order to help enforce quiet times and ensure peaceful enjoyment for guests and neighbors.

Perfect for a father/son ski/board trip to Killington
Cabin was perfect for an affordable father/son ski/snowboard trip to Killington. Mountain was an easy 25 minute drive from cabin. Highly recommend 4x4 vehicle for access road. If your looking for a rustic feel with modern amenities of WIFI and a hot tub and don't mind being in the woods, this is a great place.

Great Place
Great place for groups! Lots of beds in the 3 bedrooms, plenty of room, not a lot of privacy, but the house is built to spend time together and enjoy the great big open space. Thinking of coming back next year!

Cleanest Rental Ever
My family and I have been renting ski homes for many years. David’s home was, by far, the cleanest property we have ever stayed at. My mother-in-law would have been impressed with the cleanliness of this home. The house was perfectly appointed and was perfect from the time we walked in until the time we left. Thank you David! We are looking forward to next year.

Ski trip to killington
The house was perfect for our group. Nice space for playing games and hanging out in the evenings. We did have a problem with having toiletries, the fireplace and TV but the property manager responded right away with helpful responses.

Vacation
This is a fine rental house, clean, comfortable, and well maintained. This place has plenty of room to spread out. The friendy caretaker responded quickly to answer any questions. Restaurants, stores, and activities are a short drive away. We enjoyed swimming, tubing, and kayaking on the nearby river, lakes, and reservoirs.

Pittsfield VT vacation home
The house was wonderful and it was generally peaceful and quiet except for the loud roofers who were working at the house 20 feet away for long hours all day and into the evening. We wished we had known - would have booked a different week.

a great experience
The house was great. the layout was convenient everything was clean and functioning. Dave was easy to deal with. I felt like I got my money's worth. the property was a little difficult to get to in the snow. There is a big hill before the house but most people managed to get up just fine. next time I want to visit killington this is the place I'd stay

Fantastic Place - International Christmas Vacation with Family from Brazil, Italy and USA.
I want to start thanking David so much for the entire process clarity, flexibility and trustworthiness. The Pittsfield Ski House is amazing for family and groups; the house infrastructure is singular and very cozy. My family and I had a blast staying there for 2013 New Years Eve vacation. The house is placed close to everything and still keeps the mountain landscape and tranquility so much desired. Killington best ski is a short ride from the house as well as restaurants and other fun stuff that the area gives to its visitors. I am looking forward to find a reason to rent it again, and the fire place is FANTASTIC!!! Gabe.

Large house, awesome for big groups
This house was perfect for me and 10 of my friends! I wish the pictures were updated because the house is much nicer than the pictures make it look. 2-3 beds per room and couches that are super comfy. House was relatively clean, but I would recommend you bring your own sheets and towels (sheets were dirty). Hot tub was awesome and great communication from host. You can park at the farm on the bottom of the hill if your car can’t get up the hill (our minivan struggled). 20 min to Killington skiing- I would recommend to everyone!

Pittsfield place
We Enjoyed our stay in Pittsfield very much this fall. House had everything we needed for a great price. Pool table and ping pong were lots of fun. David, the owner, was great to work with and prompt with returning all emails. We loved that we could bring our dogs and newborn. Townspeople were great and local country store was awesome for food and some groceries. We had a good time exploring area. FYI, my husband and I are way to use to modern conveniences and missed cell phone reception, sidewalks , and close grocery stores that have diapers. keep this in mind if coming with little ones:)

Grows on you
My first impression of this property was not the greatest. The previous renters were ill-equipped to wash dishes; all the dishes had to be pre-washed before being used as they were sticky and greasy. The home is very outdated and in need of some updates. The mattresses were not very comfortable and had several stains beneath the mattress covers. The hot tub and location are what make this property a perfect getaway had we visited during a normal time when the entire state was not under Covid restrictions, there would have been plenty to do with kids and family. The owner was excellent deal with when trying to book and having issues with the website. Did not need to contact the owner during the stay instructions and information was left easily available and effortless.

Great , comfortable house
Our stay got off to a bot of a rocky start. The check in time from VRBO said 3pm and the house check in time was 6. In speaking with the caretaker of the property this isn't the first time this miscommunication has happened. I feel like this should be a simple fix. Also the first two night we had to clean up garbage that was left over from previous renters that a bear had gotten into and dragged to the neighbors yard. We had called the caretaker but he didn't come until day two to take the trash away. These were just minor issues and by no means does it diminish what a great property this is. The house itself was nice and clean and we had a great time. The property is in a nice and peaceful area. The house had a great hot tub that we enjoyed, it also had a nice little pool table. The front deck and back deck were great as well. Everything was in working order and very clean. I would have no problem recommending this house to anyone. Its also in a very convenient location. Close to a general store and a short ride to Mad River Valley and Killington.

Casual spot great for families; wonderful view across the valley
Eagle Rock has been our ski season destination for the past 7 years. It is close enough to Killington to be convenient, but tranquil in its Pittsfield location, away from the traffic on the access road. No need to go back to the mountain for a restaurant - The Clear River Tavern is about 3 miles away, and is a super spot for dinner if you don't want to cook in. The gravel roads around the house are good for walking on if there is a day when you don't want to ski. (In the spring and summer they are good for bike riding - but steep!) David has made improvements to the house over the years, with new blankets and living room furniture recently added, along with ceiling fans. The one constant is the mini-pool table, always popular with the kids. There is plenty of living space - the different levels create good separation for various parts of a big group. The big fireplace in the living room looks great with a fire burning and the wood smoke smells great too - just be sure to start a fire in the stove in the bottom room first to get the air flowing up the chimney! The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, plates, cups and glasses. There are tons of sheets and towels too. The house accommodated our two families quite easily - it sleeps many people, but there are only two full baths, so be advised. Always plenty of hot water with the two heaters! The nicest thing really, is the view. It is constantly changing with the seasons and the weather. In warmer weather you can sit in a chair out on the deck and just watch mother nature. A wonderful place to get away in any season.

Beautiful home
We had a great visit. The house was well appointed and clean. Instructions were clear and everything was as we expected. We will hopefully stay here again! The house was quite warm (to be expected, homeowner provided fans and dehumidifiers etc) so bring personal fans if you want them to sleep with. There was a big fan in the hallway but it would have been nice to have one in the bedroom. All in all it was a great stay! Thank you!
