Luxury Retreat Yurt at Brigadoon

ABOUT THIS SPACE

According to legend, Brigadoon is a village in the Scottish Highlands that has fallen under a magical spell. It must remain unchanged and removed from the world, except for one day every 100 years, when it briefly reappears. Like its namesake, “Brigadoon is a place that is idyllic, unaffected by time, or remote from reality”.

Inspired by the mythical tale, our Brigadoon is a place of sanctuary, beauty & heart, perfect for exploring the Puget Sound & Olympic Peninsula with endless walking trails in the National Forest. It is our pleasure to share it with you. We hope you find it as magical as we do. All the guests who come to Brigadoon are part of making it what it is. This is an oasis that supports and inspires imagination and creativity. We welcome artists, writers, seekers, musicians, dreamers, forest dwellers and all lovers of life!

THE YURT

The 24’ Yurt features a private entrance and dedicated gardens. It is a short walk to the ocean, a brief drive to town, a scenic ride to the Olympic Mountains and a day's journey to the farthest reaches of the West Coast of America.
The Yurt at Brigadoon is a perfect place to relax, breathe in the scents of the garden in the summer, enjoy the outdoor fireplace, meditate, read, journal, offer prayers and immerse yourself in self care.
.
GUEST ACCESS

The Yurt stands alone on the property. The luxuriously large bathroom offers an extra-long soaking tub with shower, and radiant heated floors to pamper your tired feet after a long day of hiking. There is a cozy lounge area on the covered deck leading into the yurt as well as seating amidst the abundant gardens and statuary on the property. The indoor kitchenette comes complete with microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and refrigerator. Provisions for outdoor rustic cooking are available on the covered front deck, along with a propane stove.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

We have one small dog named George who lives with us on the property. He is 9 years old and only wants affection. One of George’s magical talents is that he never barks. He is super well behaved & loves people.

We value the health of our guests as well as the environment. We use only natural, organic, unscented cleaning supplies and laundry detergent.

Brigadoon is a quiet place of relaxation, contemplation, and presence. This is a sanctuary space & not a home for partying. If your desire is to unwind with a small libation, please enjoy. However, this is not a space for intoxication or loud events. We hold this shared space as a nourishing home and getaway for ourselves and our guests. Out of respect for our neighbors and our home we request quiet hours from 8am to 8pm. Let the silence and bird songs invite you to the special serenity that is Brigadoon.

WHERE YOU'LL BE

Port Hadlock-Irondale, Washington, United States
Port Hadlock-Irondale has a rich history of the old iron working days, and ruins and kilns can be found on the beach. The water’s edge is a 7 min walk from the Yurt and provides peaceful, tranquil getaway with beautiful views of the Puget sound & a walking trail along the coast. The neighborhood is an eclectic mix of old houses from the iron working days, as well as artists and the eccentric thinkers of our time.

Just five minutes from the Yurt, the small village of Port Hadlock offers basic essentials such as a post office, grocery store, pharmacy, and laundromat. Chimacum, just a few minutes away, is a neighboring town that has an abundance of farms & offers the Chimacum Corner Farmstand. Finnriver Cidery & Farm has an array of homemade botanical & fruit ciders with a small delicious menu of food & live music just 6 minutes from the Yurt.

Downtown historical Port Townsend is 15 mins from the Yurt and has many restaurants & shops with lovely waterfront views.

the perfect retreat
My sister and I had the best time ever in this darling yurt! The bed was comfortable and the bathroom floor is heated. We drove to the beach in about three minutes. the cook stove and sink are on the deck which gave a glamping feel. The property is wonderfully landscaped, a cottage garden with a wild flair and great statuary. The owners were friendly as can be and the little dog, George was a special friend that stopped by several times during our stay. We hope to return!

Rejuvenation Yurt Amazingness!!!!!
My wife and I were in dire need of a getaway from it all when she came across this beautiful sanctuary that was just calling our name!! Once you open the gate to The Yurt and step through you are transported into a beautiful and magical zen paradise that you never knew you always needed!!! We just loved our few days and nights here and we can’t recommend The Brigadoon enough to all y’all!! The bed is ridiculously comfortable and the bathtub and heated tiles are just what the doctor ordered for a restful and relaxing vacation. The backyard is so gorgeous and cooking outside on the patio was really awesome!! There is a cute gazebo and firepit that is really, really comfy and the view of all of the greenery and statues and stone circle in the backyard just make you feel like you are in a movie!!! Sam and Beth are awesome hosts and little George the doggy and Olli the doggy are so sweet and came over to visit a couple times while we were there. We love the little towns surrounding the neighborhood and enjoyed our drives around to Sequim and Port Angeles. If you are in need of a romantic getaway or any type of getaway, hop on over and/or up to The Yurt!! It’ll change your energy and lift you up!!!

Cozy & Tranquil Stay
My partner and I stayed in the yurt for three nights for my birthday and we had a lovely time. The yurt itself is so beautiful and you can tell that the hosts put a lot of effort into its construction as well as adding unique elements that made it feel like a truly special experience. Wonderful bathroom with luxurious large bathtub and heated tile flooring. Great wrap around porch with outdoor sink and access to a grill. It really felt like the hosts thought of all the amenities possible for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Being nestled in a beautiful flower garden in Spring was the cherry on top. The hosts were also very kind and prompt in our interactions :) Definitely a five star stay!

Rest and Relax
We love staying at the yurt because it is such a great home like setting and close to family for us. It's quiet, clean and comfortable. It's close to the beach for a refreshing and easy walk or a short drive to Port Townsend for tourist activities and good restaurants ... we love Silerwater for a great dinner out.

A wonderful stay in a magical facility.
We traveled to Brigadoon, the enchanting yurt in Port Hadlock, for a winter getaway for 3 very stormy and rainy days and 2 nights, and we couldn't have asked for a more delightful experience. The yurt is like a combination of Tibet and Tolkien, remarkably comfortable and cozy. We'd love to return in the Spring, when the garden is in its glory, but listening to the pouring rain on the roof was an equivalent joy. We'll love to come back when we get the chance. The hosts, Beth and Sam, are charming and delightful folks and couldn't have been nicer.

Cozy Spot!
The yurt has a warm cozy inviting vibe. Really didn’t want to go anywhere. We were there to celebrate my grandson’s birthday, go to his soccer game and spend time with family so snugging in wasn’t on the agenda but this is certainly the place to do just that. I was surprised by all the amenities provided and it would have been fun to stay on and cook. The gardens were welcoming and lovely. We took a walk to the beach and learned a bit of Irondale history. Great spot!

We had a very comfortable and easy stay in an absolutely gorgeous setting. The yurt is well-ventilated, easy to heat, beautifully furnished. The yard is welcoming and well-maintained, lots of little spaces for hanging out and enjoying a hot tea and a book. This is a really special place and a very easy drive to Port Townsend, Marrowstone Island, etc. Everything was super clean and lots of thoughtful touches.

Such a beautiful and magical place!
From the moment we opened the gate to the beautiful plants and flowers in the garden, to the moment we opened the door, leaving our shoes on the shoe rack and stepped inside, we were transformed and felt as though every moment of our trip to Olympic National Park would be as magical as these first moments (we weren't wrong). Sam and Beth took the ultimate care to make sure everything was ready for our stay, from the fantastic trail snack basket to the fluffy folded towels on the bed for our showers. The heated floors in the bathroom were such a great thing to have on the chilly mornings during our stay. To our hosts... thank you for sharing your property with us. We'll be recommending you for all of our friends and family who wish to relax and unwind in this lovely retreat!

A Gem in the Pacific Northwest
This was our first stay in a yurt and to say we fell in love is an understatement. A relaxing place to unwind after visiting family. The peace and calm simply seeps into you through your pores when you enter the gate. From the jewel toned flowers to the thoughtful snacks and texts from the owner, we felt so well cared for on our visit. For us this trip was a family visit, but I would love to return and make the time to sit in the garden and the gazebo. This is a wonderful place to slow down and breathe, refresh and relax. The yurt was clean and cozy. While brewing fresh ground coffee in the provided French press and steeping tea, I kept looking out at the sun rising over the trees. It was so easy to feel at ease. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The guide brochures of things to do in the area were above and beyond expectations. If you get a chance to stay here, don't hesitate.

A serene retreat in the northwest woods
This unique property is set in a Pacific northwest garden just a few minutes walk to a wild beach on Port Townsend bay. It's the perfect place to escape from the stress of city life and enjoy the natural beauty of northern Washington. The Yurt is beautifully designed and impeccably maintained with a small but very usable kitchen and a heated floor in the bath. The two burner gas stove is outside on a covered deck which was fine in mid June but could be a problem in December. Sam and Beth are the perfect hosts. They were able to shift the dates of our stay at the last minute to accommodate our travel problems. They are warm and friendly and always quick to respond. I look forward to a return visit.
