As its name suggests, Quiet Beach is a place of tranquility and refuge from the hubbub of the busy Haifa city center. The beach’s protected bay generally has calm water that resembles a swimming pool, making it ideal for families with young children. Bring goggles and other swimming wear and go for a relaxing swim in the pleasant sea.
Stretch out a blanket on the strand and set up a picnic for your family. Watch people go by in this sandy haven to swim in the bay, which is protected by a long breakwater. Out on the water, you’ll spot yachts and sailing boats, while on the rocks crowning the beach stand local fisherman eagerly awaiting their daily catch.
Watch the stand-up paddlers balancing easily on the sea’s flat surface here. Cabins and sitting areas offer spots to take shelter from the sun. Get snacks and drinks from the kiosk and larger meals at the restaurant on the beach. Relax on one of the benches with picturesque views of the water.
The beach is officially known as Hof Hasheket. Note the gender segregation by day of week. Only women may visit the beach on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Both genders can use the strand and water on Saturday, while Monday, Wednesday and Friday are for men only.
Quiet Beach stretches along the coastline of the northeastern tip of Haifa, next to Rambam Hospital and the Rambam Heliport. Ride a bus to a stop near Tsim Square and walk east for a few minutes to get here. The Bat Galim train station is also just a short walk away.
Drive to the beach and pay to use the parking lot. Visit neighboring attractions such as the World War I British Military Cemetery and Bat Galim Beach.
