"Run by a lovely young family, this place is a veritable retreat. We got a balcony room over the river and it was worth it. A well run hotel with real emphasis on customer service. "This is the 3rd time I’ve stayed at the Lamm, the 2 previous times it was as a couple this time I was a solo traveller. "This was a lovely hotel. However, be warned that if you book a room based on the picture you will be let down- there was no four-poster bed in our room. Actually although we had clearly booked a Kat4 room with a balcony, the first room we were allocated had no balcony and a view from the window of a wall. "Shocking! No reception to check you in despite it being 3pm, envelope left on stairs with room number! Breakfast was a joke, cereal, few bread buns and a menu offer to cook an egg and that was it! Didn’t even have a toaster! Room was ok but we were on top floor and having to carry cases up 3sets of stairs to the top floor wasn’t ideal!
