"The Gables is a very cute B&B conveniently located about 25 minutes from the Edinburgh airport, and was perfect for our last night in country. It had a room that had beds to accomodate 4 of us in one room, and the area is quiet and the location easy to find. Our host was very flexible with our arrival time and greeted us at the door when we arrived. There were 4 of us winding down a 10 day visit to Scotland with all our accompanying luggage. "Great family run place with nice rooms and a covenient location. This place is great if you're renting a car or not. It's right by the train station that goes to either Glasgow or Edinburgh, but in a small-town area so that if you have a rental car, it's easy to manage. Lots of sights to see nearby. Great Scottish breakfast on request! Nicola is an excellent cook."

"We stayed here a few nights to visit Edinburgh in festival month. The owner is very welcoming and friendly; but the standard is disappointing by today's standards. A dog seemed to have stayed in the room before us (she takes pets) which needed more thorough airing and cleaning. The room had a slightly tired feeling. The setting is lovely and it is handy for Edinburgh - 30 mins by car and a good train service from nearby Linlithgow."
