"I stayed 2 nights in one of the "cabins" (my unit was not actually detached so a little odd to call it a cabin but whatever), not one of the domes. It was spacious (travelled solo and was in a room with apace for 5) and the views were amazing from the room and the property. "If you are going for a beach, choose a different resort. The beach is not meant for swimming. Shipping port is in view and the water is brown. Beach is not clean. The cool thing is the sand is black. I suggest getting the premium package. Other rooms are apparently run down and have no windows that open it balcony. We enjoyed the premium section. "I had a really nice stay here. The room was clean and secure, the wifi, air conditioning, shower, all worked great. The staff was super- friendly and helpful. They were patient with my awful Spanish and were able to switch to English when needed. Even the restaurant had good food. Not a luxery resort, but perfectably servicable at a good price. Puntarenas isn't the "nicest" town per se but it is interesting and authentic and this hotel is very good."

"Very nice and cool old hotel. Great view from balconies of ocean, nice clean pool and rec. area. Friendly informative staff. Very good breakfast. Very nice walk in front to nice restaurants. large room, had a room with no windows and it was still OK. Would advise trying to get a room facing the ocean if you are spending time in the room. "

"I loved the location, the beach, the street vendors. The water is beautiful and warm. We went swimming at night, it was great. The staff was very nice, just didn't seem very knowledgeable. Breakfast was great also. There is a shower by where there park the cars to rinse off from the ocean."

"Bahia Rica Was an oasis in Paquera. We stayed for one night and did the bioluminescent tour and Isla Tortuga. The guest house was a rustic sanctuary where you feel one with nature.
