"We absolutely loved this place. Friendly staff. Convenient to walking into Sintra. Quuaint. Big room that led out to the garden area. Cons: lots of stairs. If you are immobile or have a hard time with stairs I'd suggest a room on main floor. Our room was on bottom floor and smelled a little musty."

"We were warmly welcomed by the staff at the NH Centro Sintra, who were extremely helpful. We were delighted to be upgraded to a gorgeous Valley view room that had a balcony / terrace with beautiful views over Sintra including the Castelo dos Mouros and the Quinta da Regaleira. Breakfast was fantastic, my mum who is a very fussy eater, said it was the best hotel breakfast she had ever had. The service wasn’t OTT, but they were attentive. The restaurant had views across the valley and we even witnessed a rainbow! We had a few drinks at the bar and the staff were wonderful. They didn’t have the wine I requested so the barman asked my preference and chose a gorgeous wine based on that. The location of the hotel is second to none (although ignore the route on Google Maps as it takes you all around the houses and up very steep sets of stairs - not ideal with cases!) with the incredible views from the back and the front coming out into the historic square. Do not let the outside of the hotel put you off, the inside is beautifully decorated and the rooms are really well appointed. We can’t wait to return! "

"The staff especially Rueben were all very wonderful! I loved my stay there. Just be aware the road outside is closed to traffic but they will give you a code so a driver can access. I was there during the terrible Martinho storm and the road was closed so the owner actually carried my luggage up the hill for me! I will definitely come back! "

"This was our second stay with Palacio de Seteais. Our first stay was 47 years ago . We always remembered the fabulous time we had and decide one day we would come back and we did! The staff was as attentive as I remembered and they went out of their way to make us feel at home."

From customized fresh breakfast each morning (pastries, omelette, meats, cheeses, fresh juices, and more!) to the lush property with peacock and parrots to the incredible room, our stay was a very happy one. Walkable to town (mostly flat) and to National Palace, Regaleira."

"We had a wonderful stay here. Even though it was pouring rain the whole time, we loved all the amenities that were offered at Penha Longa. The staff were incredibly helpful and very kind. Every single one we came in contact with. The indoor pool and spa facilities were amazing! The beautiful chocolate were so special and we bought lots to take home. Our Junior Suite was comfortable and the room service was quick and very good for the kids. We loved our stay and would have loved to stay much longer. Great hotel! "
