La Ronde is an iconic landmark in Montreal, built during the Montreal World’s Fair in 1967. Now officially a Six Flags park, La Ronde provides hours of fun and entertainment for all the family and remains as popular as ever with visitors to Montreal.
La Ronde is home to some iconic and exhilarating rides, including Le Monstre and Goliath. Experience the thrill of Le Monstre, the highest two-track wooden roller coaster in the world, at an impressive 39.9 meters. Then make your way to Goliath, the speedy rollercoaster that was once the largest and fastest in the country.
Take a relaxing spin on the Ferris wheel, Grand Roue, for amazing views out over the Saint Lawrence River and the city skyline. Make sure you bring a camera, as these views can’t be beaten.
La Ronde holds its fair share of annual events, including the Montreal Fireworks Festival and lots of Halloween celebrations. The Fireworks Festival runs each Saturday from June to August and is a spectacular way to finish off a day at La Ronde. For those wishing to save on the price of admission to the fireworks show, you can just as easily watch it from the Jacques Cartier Bridge outside the park. Each show is an ode to a different country, so make sure you check the schedule on the website to see whether your country is represented.
The Halloween celebrations are also a lot of fun. La Ronde goes to town with a month-long Halloween festival. Watch out for all of the monsters and scary creatures in the park during the month.
La Ronde is open every day in summer. There are special tickets available, known as Flash Passes and Platinum Flash Passes, which will allow you to skip some of the normal queues and even have a second go on some of the rides.
Located along the Saint Lawrence River on Saint Helen’s Island, La Ronde is easily accessible by bus and car. Paid parking is available on site.
