Close to Athens Ohio. You’ll love my place because of the views, the peace, the fishing, the relaxation. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). My place is also part of the Windy 9 for the Motorcycle enthusiasts or those who just want to enjoy some scenic rides through the countryside.

The downstairs bedroom has a queen size bed and there are three additional beds in the loft upstairs. This is a cozy little place to relax and enjoy the peace and relaxation.

Please note this is a cabin in the country. We try very hard to keep everything fresh. clean and comfortable. You will experience a country setting which includes often (not promised) seeing wildlife. We also have other country aspects. This is a small cabin in the country and bugs do get into the cabin at times. If this is an issue for you please ask about them before booking. We work very hard to minimize this issue but at certain times of the year they can be a nuisance. If you are looking for a pristine place to go this may not be the option for you. If you are looking for a super relaxing cabin and place to escape we feel this is an excellent option. We would love to have you as guests but want to make sure you are comfortable. Please don't hesitate to ask questions. We will answer as honest and accurate as possible. We want you to enjoy the trip you are planning and have a wonderful time whether it is with open season or elsewhere.

This is a no frills cabin (except for the hot tub :) as reflected in the price. This means you will need to bring things like hand soap, all personal items, towels for the hot tub...etc. One bath towel and wash cloth is provided for each guest. If you want extra please bring some with you.

Lake Dow is a short 15 minute drive. Lake has kayaks, paddleboat, Pontoon boats, a beach, picnic area, fishing and more to enjoy.

20th Wedding anniversary
This was our second stay in 7 months. It was even better this time if possible. We enjoyed the hot tub and grill. We played scrabble on the deck under the stars. The walk around the pond was wonderful andy husband thought he saw an Oriole bird. It was so relaxing and very hard to leave. We could not believe the time went so quickly. Thanks again Mark

Cabin situated on beautiful property
Roomy, comfortable Cabin. Livingroom set up was accommodating. Food trays, tv, air, comfy seats. Loved sitting on the deck and gazing out at the pond. Saw a Night Heron, hawks, geese, turkey vultures, deer, turtles, and many song birds. Would stay here again. You are surrounded by country living.

Our stay was everything we had hoped for and more. For being a cabin in the woods, the home was surprising tight and free of insects. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. I wish we could have stayed longer to catch more fish!

Eclipse vacation
Decided to stay in Ohio to enjoy the solar eclipse. Took a day trip to Buck Creek State Park for the eclipse totality. Great cabin, loved the hottub. Brought dog who enjoyed the yard and local hiking trails. Great vacation spot

We stayed with 2 adults and 2 teenagers and it was great. The kids were attending OU Honor Band for the weekend and this is a better option and cheaper than a hotel. I used my hotspot for internet so I could work remotely with no issues. Will stay again!

Thanksgiving
We spent our Thanksgiving here and it was wonderful. It was so relaxing beginning with the hot tub to the peacefulness of where the cabin was. Seemed thousands of miles from everyone. We had our usual Thanksgiving dinner, grilled steaks, wonderful grill. We recommend staying here and enjoying nature. Also we were able to watch all three Thanksgiving Day football games. Thank you Mark for helping us get to the cabin, my map from my phone quit and we did not have telephone service for a bit, once we did Mark directed us in and very helpful during our stay. Great getaway
My wife and I recently stayed at the cabin for the weekend. We made a few day trips to the Hocking Hills area and nearby Nelsonville for a scenic train ride. The cabin was very isolated which was very nice. Very rustic but everything you need and a great location. It was nice to sit on the deck and look out over the pond great owner, very good to rent from, very much enjoyed our stay

Dad and Son’s Weekend
This is our 20th year renting cabins. We have to rate this one as one of our favorite. Beautiful setup with nice deck and hot tub overlooking a beautiful pond and lots of trees. We’ll probably have a return visit to this location.

Perfect country respite!
This cabin is exactly what we had hoped for and exactly as advertised. SO peaceful and quiet, with incredible light and a deck that really became the hallmark of our trip. It’s huge! And overlooks a gorgeous wooded area and pond. We saw many deer during our time staying here (be careful driving!) and felt that they were allowing us a few days in their world. The kitchen had everything we needed (even a corkscrew!) and the A/C held up well in stunning humidity of our first 2 days. All 3 Of us slept well and found the beds comfortable. We absolutely will come back!

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights August 6 thru 10th 2023, we LOVED it. Just what we needed. Cottage was clean, quiet, perfect deck with hot tub and grill overlooking pond. Used the hot tub every night while stargazing and listening to the frogs. . Enoyed walking down to the pond to fish, caught multiple fish each time. We saw a deer at the pond the day we arrived. Enjoyed a trip to Dow Lake to rent a Pontoon and cruised the lake. Sad to leave on our last day. Definitely want to return to our perfect retreat. Thank You Mark , Mark & Dee S
