Hotel Monterey Group in Tachikawa from NZ$197

"The hotel was professionally run and clean and tidy. There was a 5 min walk to Suidobashi and Iidabashi was also accessible between 5-7 mins providing food transport options. The daily room cleaning was particularly good, providing fresh water bottles daily and replacing all used glasses and coffee cups with clean ones. The combined washing machines and dryers provided a convenient option to clean clothes part way through the holiday. Please note they take 100 yen coins only and they dispense their own washing detergent into the machine with each wash. The breakfast option provides a mix of western and Japanese food and whilst we didn’t include this in our booking we chose to pay for this on a few days during the week for convenience. Overall this hotel lived up to and exceeded expectations. The only major issue we had is that when we booked through Expedia our booking was for a room with two beds, two sofa beds and a Murphy bed and we booked this for two adults and two children’s and had assumed that this would be fine however when we arrived we were informed that Expedia had only specified two adults and one child and there was an extra charge to pay for one of the sofa beds to be made up and used. We are discussing this with Expedia on how to resolve the £500 extra charge for a weeks stay, but I fee that this was more an issue with the Expedia booking process than the hotel itself."

"Great accomodations. A 10 minute walk to metro. The breakfast is pricey at $15 but there is no alternative in the area - but the breakfast was very good. Dozens of eating establishments down the nearby allys but they are not open early."

"Great experience for check in with helpful staff - only stayed one night but room was clean and tidy - water station and vending machine on guest floor was a nice touch. Check out was simple and with storage facility for luggage until we needed to leave for airport so this was very convenient for us!"
