"The property is in an very nice location...right on a very picturesque river. My group felt it was more of a fish camp than a house. If you plan to stay outside on the deck or the river 90% of the time you will probably love it. If you have to spend a significant amount of time inside you will find it cramped, with worn-out furniture and uncomfortable beds. It is operated by a management company and not the owner. "We stayed here for two nights, before and after our Tongariro Crossing trip. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Check in and communication was straightforward. The ear plugs left on the table came in handy as the property is located next to a fairly busy road and trucks transporting cars stop and do their driver change-over next to it. Also the carpet in the room could do with a refresh as it does not smell very nice."
