If you are into outdoor adventures, you'll be delighted to know there are a handful of nearby beaches and parks. Just one walkable mile north on Patrick’s Point Drive is Sue-Meg State Park (formerly Patrick’s Point State Park). With its dense forests, hiking trails boasting ocean views, history, and beach access, it’s a great place to relax and explore. Five miles south, the charming coastal town of Trinidad offers visitors a plethora of local restaurants and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, such as Trinidad State Beach, Old Home Beach, and Baker Beach.

Very cute!
Clean and definitely roomy enough for me and my husband. The grounds are lovely and amenities were excellent. The center of the city of Trinidad is located close by with a nice market, gas station and a couple of really good restaurants. Don’t miss Sue-Meg State Park nearby. A good base location for all the things we wanted to see and do in the area. We LOVED our stay here and the whole area is gorgeous!

Nice Place, Terrible Beds
The location of this little cottage was great. It was peaceful, clean, beautiful and well equipped. Unfortunately, both the fold out bed and the bedroom mattress were extremely misshapen, lumpy and quite uncomfortable as mentioned in other reviews. A nice, comfortable bed would have made this a 5 star stay.

Cute cabin in the woods
Small, well equipped cabin in the woods. No washer and dryer. Numerous kitchen gadgets and supplies. Bed comfortable. Overall very clean and well organized. Plenty of linens. Tissues in bathroom would have been nice. Remote location, hard to find at night. Nice ocean view, could hear sea lions. Enjoyed our stay.

Pros and Cons
The cabin was nice but the mattress on the bed was the worst we have ever encountered with dips and crevasses and a noisy plastic under sheet. If you plan to stay make sure that is replaced first. Also, though it's on a beautiful property with great views in the public areas, be aware the main view from the cabin, to the west, is not the ocean but a carport and travel trailer.

Paradise in the dark
Absolutely beautiful presentation, great size, everything was perfect except the time of year. Wind & Rain took the power out, that includes the WiFi & Internet, water pressure & the heat. The hum of generators all around made it clear our accommodations were lacking. Grateful for all the extra blankets! Management company did reach out, addressed our concerns and made concessions. Impressed the unit came with a battery operated lantern!!

If you book this property through VRBO, be aware that there are NOT laundry machines on site, even though the VRBO listing states that there are. We brought half as many clothing items that we would have if we'd known that we'd have to drive into town somewhere to do laundry. Actually, we probably wouldn't have rented the place. During the stay, I reached out to the Vacasa help line and did not get a response for THREE DAYS!! By then we had already checked out in our dirty, stinky clothes. Now that I'm home, I just got off the phone with Vacasa to find out how this happened. Not surprisingly, all blame was deflected and it is now on me to work with VRBO to get the listing corrected. Seriously??? It's an otherwise great property, but the way this was (not) handled casts a shadow over the positives.

Serenity
We are a retired couple and we took a road trip up the West Coast. We stayed in the cottage while visiting the Redwood Forest. We found the self catering to have everything we needed and it was a nice reprieve from eating out all the time. The location was very special, so beautiful and handy to all we wanted to do in the area. The check-in process was excellent with easy to follow and complete instructions. I would recommend the cottage if you're looking for privacy, quiet and relaxation.

Cozy gateway to the Redwoods
Just as advertised, in short. Easy check-in, spotless-clean upon our arrival, wonderful partial views of the water from the living room and BBQ deck (and a short walk to bluffs with lovely views and the sounds of sea lions), and a cozy and comfortable bedroom. Ideal for a couple, might feel cramped with someone staying on the fold-out bet. Perfect location to explore the Redwoods parks (and hidden gem Sue-Meg state park next door).

Cozy stay with ocean views and Redwood NP accessibility
The process was easy, place cozy with a great view and sounds of the ocean. It smelled like the Forrest outside and we were super close to all of it… even the northernmost parts of Redwoods NP! We found it comfortable and a great place to jump out on our hiking and biking adventures from with a hot shower to come home to! Would recommend without hesitation.

Beautiful little home surrounded by trees. Easy to find and with a very short walk to a beautiful view. Other homes were near by but it was extremely quiet and private still. Would rent again.
