"The place itself is nice and has a certain charm. Didn’t love the location/area though and lack of programming. Every little thing was extra (like towel rentals, no class yoga only private lessons) which wasnt a big deal but still different from what we are used to. The place itself is well thought out and designed. "

"We enjoyed the property, but be prepared for lots of stairs. The property is well maintained but it is a tall and narrow building. Great views of the ocean. I think we had at least three days of green flashes! One very big drawback is that for some reason there are notices in every bathroom to NOT flush toilet paper. For someone not used to that, well... The Host should state that in the description, and honestly I don't know why this is an issue there I don't believe it is on a septic...

"We stayed at the villa for 4 days on August 2023 after a very hot 4 days in Lisbon. The cooler temperatures at the coast were welcome. The villa was very comfortable and large, and the pool was great. There is not much else in Assenta, but there is a small supermarket in Charneca, which is only a few km away, and much larger supermarkets in Silveria and Ericeria. Ericeria is very nice, with lots of restaurants around the square and a good vibe. There is also market, but we did not manage to...

"You could spend all your time just looking at the beautiful interior. Furnished and decorated in the old style, this home is like the TARDIS in Dr. Who - seems tiny on the outside, but it is very large on the inside, with a lovely garden to boot. There are four bedrooms, so it is perfect for a large family. It is also nicely located within the walls of the old city, just a short walk to all the shops and restaurants. It's a little cold in the winter but should be perfect the rest of the year....

Disappointed with the location, not a lot around , quiet and a long walk to the beach , quite steep , which was unsuitable for the older family members. "Our group consisted of 12 people who are all professional colleagues/friends, who planned this retreat after an international conference we had together in Lisbon. We wanted a relaxing place on the coast where we could all hang out and decompress from our busy professional lives. The barn is absolutely incredible. "Jos' villa is beautiful, set up really well for families with children of all ages and is really wll equipped. It's up in the hills surrounded by farmland and barely touched by tourism, which we loved, but is rarely more than 30 minutes away from beaches, lagoons, old towns and farmers markets around the area. "This was our second stay at this villa and still adored it. Had some new members of the family this time around so was very grateful for the fenced in pool and the play area full of toys upstairs! This place has absolutely everything any member of the family could need (and more) all in a peaceful private setting with local amenities and tourist spots just a quick drive away. "The hotel was fine. I would not consider it 5 Stars. The service was good. The room was small, it did not feel like we were staying in a Castle. The hotel does not have parking , you park 5 min away and they send a car to pick you up. Pack light, you will have issues with large luggage. The village does not allow anyone to park inside. I would consider spending less money in another hotel nearby. All and all, it was a good experience "
