The hosts let us park at theirs while we were on the overnight cruise in Doubtful Sound. Breakfast was included and it was a clocked breakfast. Will definitely stay again"

"Planned weekend away fell just 2 days after massive storm that resulted in a regional emergency. Host Kaylene was wonderful to deal with and said she would refund us if we were unable to have the holiday (no power at home etc). Wonderful host. Home was toasty warm and welcoming. Spacious rooms, super king beds (x2). Great location to explore the Tuatapere area e.g Hump Ridge, beaches (Gemstone Beach!!), Clifden Caves etc. Highly recommend and we plan to come back. Kaylene delivered a pyrex pie dish so we could make a bacon and egg pie for dinner one night. Nothing was too much trouble."

"We loved the location of this cozy cottage in Manapouri. We were able to walk into the village easily and grab dinner and it was a short drive to Te Anau. The owners provided great information about the local area and hikes and had lots of great books about the area. We definitely felt like a local staying here and it was a perfect getaway spot. (We especially loved listening to the melodic birds while sitting on the patio.) "

"The lodge is located in a very remote location, despite of getting groceries are so inconvenient, Blake showed great generosity and hospitality to all the guests, make us feel like staying in an old friend's house. Kitchen, bathroom, and bed linen are of 5-stars clean. If you're planning to go on the Hump Ridge Track, choose Rarakau Lodge for your pre-departure accommodation is definitely the best option. "
