Touch sharks and stingrays in the aquarium, enjoy rides on amusement piers and let your kids have fun and get wet in water parks.

Wildwood Boardwalk is a long and wide coastal walkway with myriad attractions. It runs for 38 blocks. Follow the walkway to encounter a thrilling water park, ride-packed amusement piers and a range of stores along the way. Enjoy the electrifying ambiance in this lively area by the ocean.

Go for a jog or rent a bike to ride along the boardwalk in the morning, when it is least crowded. Walk along one of the amusement piers that extend over the beach and enjoy the excellent views of the water. Take a ride on the Great White roller coaster on the Adventure Pier and splash into the water on the Sky Pond Journey slide at the Raging Waters site. These attractions are part of the Morey’s Piers and Beachfront Water Parks complex.

Bring your children to touch the sharks, starfish and stingrays in the Seaport Aquarium. Go to the adjacent Splash Zone Water Park for its lazy river and exciting water slides. Spend hours on the games and betting machines in Ed’s Funcade and the flashy Gateway 26. Play in the retro arcade complex of Flipper’s Fascination. The boardwalk has a huge selection of dining options, from pizzerias and doughnut places to seafood restaurants and upscale restaurants.

Capture photos of your family beside the iconic Wildwoods Sign and gaze up at the elegant whitewashed façade of nearby Boardwalk Chapel.

Get around the vast boardwalk via the Sightseer Tram Car, a trackless transportation system that is in service from morning until after midnight. Spread out a blanket on the extensive beach and enjoy a picnic against the soothing sound of the waves lapping the shore.

Wildwood Boardwalk runs along the southeast-facing coast of Wildwood, a town on the peninsula that juts out from the southern end of New Jersey. Drive south from Newark for 145 miles (230 kilometers) to get here in less than 3 hours. See nearby attractions, such as the Wildwood Historical Society, Bill Henfey Park and the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse.
