"Lovely stay. The staff was great! Everyone went out of their way to be kind and helpful, even helping when our plans to tour local sites got messed up by a very heavy winter storm that caused power outages. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was a bit pricey, but excellent quality and our servers could not have been better. Breakfast every morning was delicious and, again, our server was lovely. Would recommend this hotel if touring Derbyshire area. "

"I can't fault it. Spotlessly clean and for an economy single room, it had everything you need. En suite, nice little touches having hand soap and shower gel. Spotless white towel, bath mat and bedding. The bed was comfortable. Check in was very friendly and I was given full instructions on how to use the self locking main entrance door. "Sadly, the EV chargers didn't work, and every staff member under the age of 25 looked like they really didn't want to be there. It took the shine off our dinner, bearing in mind we are only 27 and 28, and have worked similar jobs ourselves - but it was very noticeable and off-putting. Loved the dog friendliness of the place and how accommodating it was to outdoorsy folk. Will come back for sure. "

It felt like such a genuine, honest, real place - somewhere we could relax and breathe easily, in contrast to the massive chain hotel we had just been staying in in Liverpool, where sheer numbers of guests led inevitably to a dehumanized, mass-produced feel.
