Although two guests checked in, only one bathrobe was provided in the room. There were also no toothbrushes—while I understand that many hotels in New Zealand may not offer these by default, most five-star hotels do provide them without request. Additionally, the air conditioning was very noisy. Even though we set it to 24°C and on auto mode, the room temperature actually dropped from 21°C (when we entered) to 20.5°C. It didn’t warm up as expected, and there was no clear option to switch it to heating manually. The auto function didn’t seem to work at all.

Our second time staying at Alamanda was amazing and i cant fault the staff and their welcoming nature. They go above and beyond for their clients and the small personal touches of a box of chocolates and a handwritten welcome note definitely make the best first impressions.

I loved the pool area beside the restaurant. its huge. the staff were lovely... I can only fault corridors that lead to rooms felt like a maze

I stayed in this hotel for three times over last five years and this time was the most unpleasant experience. The check in was delayed and with no communication between the reception team and we would need to regularly contact them to confirm. The reception team, I believe she’s the in charge(not the one that helped us to check in), with really unprofessional attitude and manner. Also I booked the stays with breakfast, and when we walked in and you would be unseen and looked like you were invisible. Myself as in the service industry and I was trying to understand what scenario these guys were in and I had to

Great location to stay with close access to major shopping centre and plenty of restaurants. The room was quite nice with modern facilities and a decent size tv with decent channels. Room service was great along with the quality of food.

Although this property is a little dated it was excellent. The place was very clean and the friendly staff made our stay enjoyable. The bed was very comfy.

excellent staff, well trained and well presented. the hotel looks and feels very high end. pity the car park onsite is not large enough so we have to use the overflow car park. short walk, but still not as good as parking onsite.
