What you can expect

Embarking on a journey through the enchanting Coffee Region of Colombia, each day unfolds like a chapter in a captivating storey. From the moment your plane graces the Pereira skyline, a symphony of birdsong welcomes you to a realm where birdwatching transcends a mere pastime—it's a shared passion among visitors and feathered denizens alike.

Tinamú Birding, a sanctuary adorned with over 477 species, transforms into an ornithological paradise. Majestic raptors to minuscule hummingbirds paint the landscape with vibrant hues, making every nook an opportunity to marvel at winged wonders.

Next, the Río Blanco Nature Reserve, heralded by the World Wide Fund for Nature, immerses you in a world of 372 bird species, including 33 hummingbird varieties. It's a unique dance of plumage and melody within the protected forest reserve, a treasure trove in Manizales.

Hacienda El Bosque beckons in Manizales, an historic estate embracing altitudes from 2,800 to 3,900 metres. With over 293 registered species, the high Andean forest cabins offer a front-row seat to nature's spectacle—a realm where Andigena hypoglauca and Grallaricula lineifrons grace the landscape.

At Glamping El Colour de Mis Revés, a repertoire of 489 bird species unfolds, with 142 making the glamping site their home. Amidst this forest sanctuary, urban distractions fade, allowing a genuine communion with nature in standalone luxury glamping accommodation.

The Termales del Ruiz Hotel, nestled in the Central Andes cloud forest, becomes a paradise at 2,850 metres. Here, 167 bird species, including Aglaeactis cupripennis and Myioborus ornatus, offer a symphony of colours and sounds along trails leading to waterfalls and springs.

Days at Hotel Termales del Ruiz continue, inviting exploration into the cloud forest's heart at 3,500 metres. Amidst endemic species like Aglaeactis cupripennis, the trails unveil hidden waterfalls and springs, creating a symphony of nature's beauty. Hot springs offer rejuvenation, complemented by the hotel's comfort and delectable meals.

As the journey concludes, a heartfelt note from the Ocampo Expeditions team expresses gratitude for the shared passion for photography and nature. The hope lingers that this experience fosters awareness of wildlife conservation, inspiring a commitment to protect and preserve these wonders. The final words extend an invitation to future animal photo safaris, a continuation of the exploration of nature's marvels together.
