What you can expect

Enjoy a full-day trip to historic city of Alexandria and experience the remnants of a bygone era. After pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza you'll drive towards Alexandria, stopping along the way to use the bathroom and get a coffee.

Upon arrival, start your tour of this ancient city. Head towards the marble-stone Roman amphitheatre of Kom El-Deka that once accommodated over 800 visitors. Enjoy the sights of its pleasure garden and mosaic floored Roman baths and villas.

Heading to the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, feel the aura of ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman architectural marvels. The cemetery was built in the second century AD and is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. We then have the chance to visit Pompey's Pillar, the significant Roman triumphal column in Alexandria, and the well-known Egyptian monument still standing among the ancient remains of the country.

After savouring a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, we enjoy a photo stop at the Library of Alexandria, one of the Ancient World's Largest and Renowned Archives. Stroll along the Citadel of Qaitbay, built above the ruined Alexandria lighthouse. At the end of the tour you'll be driven back to Cairo or Giza to be dropped off at your accommodation.

The driver that collected us and dropped us off from the hotel to the meeting point was excellent and very polite, while also being a good driver. It is a 3h drive from Giza to Alexandria, and he was very attentive with us needing a break throughout. Our guide Iman was extremely knowledgeable and honest about the surroundings, the history and very good at keeping the visits interesting. He was also very kind, friendly and flexible with the tour if we had any requests of things to do, as he was valuing our time and that it was meant to be for us to learn about his city. While going to different touristic places many people recognised him and respected him for his work, experience and as a person. At the end of the tour, he took us for lunch to a beautiful area by the sea, with a wonderful view, before sending us off on out way to Giza, checking in on the driver to make sure everything goes well. I would highly recommend Iman in the future

Excellent day tour. Really knowledgeable tour guide and really great itinerary. Only niggle is that the tour was longer than expected. We were returned to our hotels at 9pm, rather than the 6pm it advertised. It wasn’t a problem, but be careful which day you select to do this trip in case the travel takes longer than expected. Highly recommend!!

The trip to Alexandria is an amazing experience. It contains so much history and interesting places to visit. Omar was our guide and he is wonderful. He is very knowledgeable. We started at the roman theater, followed by Pompey's pillar, the catacombs and the library of Alenxandria. If you visit Cairo, don't forget to book a tour to Alexandria!

A fantastic experience with a wonderful tour guide (Heba) and driver (Ahmed). I must say I was amazed by Alexandria and got more out of the tour than expected. Heba is a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. I was surprised by her extensive knowledge of all the historical monuments we visited in Alexandria. The tour focused on four important historical monuments in Alexandria and Heba made sure that I got significant quality time exploring each of them. She is also great with taking some very nice pictures. The tour also organized food for me in a very fine restaurant facing the Mediterranean sea. I would say Alexandria is not seen as a very tourist city given the library and lighthouse both are gone but this tour made sure that we could do a time travel and still see some of the great architectural remnants and make it a worthwhile experience. I was also amazed seeing the dedication of both Heba and Ahmed, our driver, given they were fasting for Ramadan. Hats off to them!

I had an experienced and well spoken guide (Ayman) who managed time well. The pace of visiting places was good. We also had an excellent and professional driver (Mohammed). I had expected a tour bus and to be in a group, but no one else signed up so I was on my own and the tour was in a car. Ayman and Mohammed were flexible. I wanted to go back to a shop where I saw something to buy and we went back together to find it. Ayman also took me to the market which I wanted to see - the real Egyptian style vegetable market. Ayman gave me tips on how to manage paying for things and he helped me find the tea pot I was looking for. It was a great day to see some historical sites and at the same time we were not rushed. The coffee stop on the way to Alexandria has a lovely jewelry store where I found the perfect gift for my family. In the bazaar in Alexandria you are not harassed at all. This tour was one of the highlights of my trip and I highly recommend it with Ayman as your guide.
