Know before you book

  • Experience Suggestions: You should have a fair amount of hiking experience before attempting this hike or be in good physical condition. At a minimum, you should be able to walk roughly 10 miles on flat pavement, or 8 miles of uneven rolling terrain over the course of 7 hours. You should also be able to easily climb many flights of stairs over the duration of the hike. Some parts of trail are steep and hilly, placing additional stress on areas of the body not impacted by level terrain. Not recommended for those with cardiac or respiratory issues/illness. May be difficult for those with severe joint issues.

Chugach State Park
  • 7h
We will visit either Williwaw Lakes or Symphony & Eagle Lakes. Both are truly majestic places to visit. We'll determine which location we visit based on weather and group ability the day of the hike. This adventure is approximately 8 to 10 miles in length with a challenging amount of elevation gain depending on the route we pick. Prepare to see gorgeous, alpine lakes filled with the bluish hue of crystal-clear snowmelt and glacial runoff. We will look for tracks while we hike and attempt to spot different wildlife. We may see moose, bear, Dall sheep, mountain goats, plus a variety of small mammals like arctic squirrels and marmots. There are plenty of birds to gaze at such as bald eagles, thrushes, chickadees, and jays. This tour provides endless possibilities for photography, a hearty challenge, and immense reward. Transport included in total time of tour: (1 hour transport & 7 hours hiking)
