You will be able to discover the major heritage sites, which include around 2,000 heritage and agricultural buildings, as well as 21 “classified historic monuments” - including Norman-style houses from Canada's French colonial period!

The Île d'Orléans - cradle of New France - is also home to 317 pioneer families settled in the attic of Quebec, shipbuilding, river pilots, rural and maritime life and French-Canadian Catholic traditions.

The "New England" architecture of Ste-Pétronille dates from the 19th century, when Anglo-Canadian merchants fled the city to live safe from the cholera which struck the port of Quebec and Canada in the 1830s.
