Considered the first Gothic cathedral built in Spain. Its tall and solitary tower stands out, which reveals the double function of this great temple. One as a house of God, the second as an important part of the defence of the city. Its famous cimorro is integrated into the wall as one more tower of it.
Palacio de Polentinos

Undoubtedly the best and most beautiful example to get to know Avila's palace buildings from the 16th century. Building closely linked to military life. It was the former quartermaster academy of the army and currently houses the General Military Archive of Ávila, as well as a very interesting museum of the Army.
Church and birthplace of Saint Teresa of Jesus
  • 20m
The Church of Santa Teresa is part of the convent of the Carmelite monks that is located in the same square. They were the ones who decided in the 17th century to build this convent in the same place where the old family home of the Cepeda and Ahumada parents of La Santa stood. We will get to know the figure of the most relevant and international woman in our city. An extraordinary character who influenced and transformed not only Ávila and Spain at the time, but who crossed borders becoming one of the references of the Catholic Church.
Plaza Corral de las Campanas
