"Good hotel for the price. Much cheaper than the surrounding hotels around Universal Studios Japan. Walk to the theme park was a little longer than expected, but completely manageable. Room was a little run down with peeling wall paper and semi musty carpets in the halls, but otherwise a pretty clean room. Tons of free toiletries in the lobby. Only a 5-8 minute walk from the train station. Biggest perk was the 7-11 and Lawson stores right next to the hotel."

"Port Vita Hotel is a good option for USJ being close to the Universal Station rail station. Note that the Osaka airport limo-bus stops at the USJ main gate, which is maybe a 400 yard walk away. This is OK in fine weather but less so in a downpour/typhoon season. The front desk receptionist was outstanding accommodating our requests though. The family room we had was set out well and had all the space and facilities we needed with plenty of power outlets and USB ports. Buffet breakfast was great...
