Great John Street Hotel
4.0 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, 120 reviews
"The bar and eating area above the bar as you enter was very unique. The extra areas made for sitting and eating was very cool. The upstairs bar/balcony was so beautiful! Everything about this hotel amazed us. The room we stayed in was a 2 story room with a balcony looking over the living room area. It was very awesome and had a rustic feel to it. We fell in love with every aspect of this hotel! It made our honeymoon the best."

"The location is great, near some good pubs and restaurants and Piccadilly station a 10 minute walk. Check in was great. Bed was comfortable, shower good and the kitchen facilities whilst no oven were very useful. The shutters on the windows did look good, but let in quite a bit of light early in the mornings. Staff friendly and the croissants and coffee very welcome in the mornings. Very satisfied."

"One of the towels was dirty. The lift was broken. There was junk outside the lift on every floor. Seems like a place for hen and stag events, and like bad behaviour is expected by staff from all patrons."

The Ascott
4.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, 251 reviews
"This was my third stay at the Ascott and I will keep coming back whenever I visit my family in Manchester. As an American I very much appreciate the things that make it different from the big hotel chains. It is quiet, it is personal, it is comfortable and to me “very British” which is a good thing. The rooms are all different in style and decor. They are comfortable tho and have all the features and amenities described. The overall feel of the hotel is that of a large comfortable home,...
