"This is essentially a pole barn, and I assume it was once used as one, as indicated by the slight farm smell inside. The fact it's wide open is NOT a negative it's nice having room to move around, and the sleeping arrangements just work. Nobody (5) of us bothered the other while sleeping or staying up later than the rest. It worked out great. "My wife and I spent two nights with Andy & Pip at the lodge at the start of our New Zealand vacation. They were great hosts, picked us up at the ferry dock, helped guide us with local transportation options (take advantage of the bus system to the local wineries) and Pip provided a wonderful breakfast that was a highlight of our visit. Right next to the Redwood forest and walking distance or a short Uber away from the city center. "Charming B&B! Area is lovely (although it was raining during our stay so we didn’t get as much of a chance to enjoy the location as we would have liked… but it IS breathtaking.) On the bay, lovely walk to town … couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful spot! "We booked through Hotels.com well in advance of our visit but on arrival Bryan was not expecting us. Fortunately there was a room available. A nice continental breakfast was left out for us which was cereal, croissant, apple puffs or toast. We had a decent sized room with bathroom and toilet down the corridor. This would have been shared but there were no other residents when we stayed. The bed was very comfortable. Bryan was v. helpful and provided a list of local restaurants and take always."

"Room was beach facing so was nice - warm and comfortable. Area is beautiful and lots of choices for food and walks. I found the parking underneath extremely tight, had a pole to work around and roof is very low. I didn't like the mirror in the headboard of my bed! and the shower could have been cleaner as there was mould on the joinery inside the cubicle. "
