How to download our exemption codes for the tourist tax, which stop on the water bus we needed to the code for entrance for self check in. The only negative was I booked bed and breakfast to be told on arrival this would incur an extra €12 per head for a continental breakfast delivered to the room. "My husband, 9 and 10-year-old daughters and I loved staying at the B&B Fortuny. It is a very short walk from the water bus stop which makes it an easy journey to and from the Marco Polo Airport. Andrea sent clear and detailed instructions on how to get there. He gave us a friendly welcome when we arrived even helping to carry our luggage up the stairs. "It was our first time in Venice and we got there at night. Not being from there, I was on edge walking through the narrow alleys that were not always well lit. Once we got to our bed and breakfast though, as soon as we opened the door, it was wonderful. The staff and the amenities were great."

However, I wasn't impressed by the communication by the property and it was rather hard to find the hotel. Every other place we stayed in contacted us prior to our arrival and sent detailed info to find the place; not this one! No answer to phone calls. Contactless check in/no lobby, if it's your thing. You need to read a 15 page booklet (not kidding), to figure everything...

Directions for airport to Palazzo San Luca were clear and easy to use (orange line water is from airport to Rialto water stop, tickets bought online before leaning Sydney Australia, and simple map showing short walk along Grand Canal and one left turn for further short walk and easy, friendly reception. "The venice lion residence was absolutely clean and their staff are really nice. A coffee machine located in a relaxed area made us relax to have a better day. If the entrance gate would work properly with electrical remote which it didn't I could suppose five stars hotel in overall. It would be one of my favourite choice if I want book a hotel for holiday again. "

"Room was large and it was really clean. Also have great soundproof walls as we barely hear other guests. A large supermarket and McDonalds nearby with around 8 minutes walk, very convenient when we wanted to cook dinner ourselves using the mini kitchen. Also near to Mestre train station with around 10 minutes walk, surrounded by many different hotels and you can feel that the road is safe "
