"Clean basic accommodation attached to an interesting old inn. Modern bedroom resembling Premier Inn, good value for the price paid snd in an ideal location as we were passing through Basingstoke on the way to Southampton. Breakfast was not included but offered at a supplement. Variety offered on the menu looked good but we overslept in the comfortable beds and so had to run. "

"Good stay, reasonably priced and very convenient for cycling along the canal nearby. They have good bike storage. One small recommendation for improvement; if a curtain could be placed over the entrance to the room, to block out the electric light from the courtyard at night."

"The hotel was very convenient and close to the seafront. The room was comfortable and it had a walk-in shower which I needed. I also have difficulty with stairs, so I chose the hotel because it has a lift. It also has plenty of parking and the staff were very friendly. Will stay there again next time I visit the Isle of Wight."

"The entire team at Swan Hotel was very friendly and engaged well with the guests. The restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. Our superior room was large, clean and very comfortable. The hotel was an easy 30 minute walk to Jane Austen’s home and Chawton. Would highly recommend the Swan Hotel for a stay in Alton."
