"We had communicated to the hotel on 2 separate occasions concerning our late arrival time which was to be about12:30 am. I was assured that someone would be there to check us in. Our taxi dropped us off on a very dark and deserted street and the door to the hotel was locked, we rang the doorbell and phoned several times but no response. "I loved that the hotel was smack dab in the middle of Old San Juan. The architecture and cultural vibe of the hotel was very authentic. The hotel had everything I needed. As a solo traveler I was safe and secure. My room, the classic queen, was small, perfect for one, would’ve been a bit tight with two. Outlets were sparse (as expected in a building several hundred years old) and the Flat screen TV didn’t work great. Staff was friendly and welcoming *****."

"Good points: Great location with bars and restaurants along the road. Loved being able to get the free boat to the main restaurant in the morning, and the ride to the beach. Service was fab. View from the room was lovely, perfect to watch the comings and goings of the boats. A particular highlight of my stay was a fantastic massage - well worth the extra cost. Not so good points: As is the nature of the hotel, it's all a little dated, with features needing an update. Little things in the room...
