"The Lafayette is over the top and beyond imagination especially during the holidays! Retro diner, poolside service, music venue, amazing restaurant, and private bowling alley ... and the rooms - oo la la. Definitely a young hip vibe, but super friendly staff. "

"This is the second time I have stayed here. Highly recommend. I stayed on the second floor this time. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Wasn't loud ever, even when staying right near the stairwell. All staff I encountered, were lovely. Parking is at $15 a day, but if you choose to do so, they'll just use the deposit made at check-in towards it at the end of your stay. Definitely will come back."

"The hotel property, staff, and rooms were great but not the area around it. Unfortunately, my side mirror was stolen and I assume the homeless nearby may have taken it."

"Property was very clean, accommodating, quiet. Almost seemed like no one else was there. Lots of random religious things on the property though (wailing wall reconstruction??). Overall, clean and nice."

"I love the La Jolla Shores. It is old and has not really changed much, which I like. We had a room with a balcony but in winter it never got sun and it was cold. Next time I'll ask to be higher up, which might help. We didn't eat in the restaurant. The room taxes in California are very high. But I will always go back to the Shores."

"We enjoyed this place so much for our honeymoon! It was just enough away from everything like downtown and other major attractions. The only thing is if you want a snack per day you want like down the street for example, it’s not close you’ll want to buy everything you need before heading back to the hotel. Overall would stay again though. Great Breakfast in the morning! "
