Little Yellow House in Ferndale! Quiet, Cozy 3BR

NEW LISTING!! Walk to downtown Ferndale! All new furniture / decor, luxury bedding, quartz countertops… super clean and well-cared for. This comfy, freshly updated house is on a quiet street just blocks from restaurants, bars, coffee shops and more. Centrally located with easy access to freeways, 10-15 min drive to other downtown areas (Royal Oak, Detroit, Birmingham). Ideal for couples, business travelers, LGBTQ+, and families. Children always welcome, as are small pets (under 20 lbs).

The Space:
The whole house is yours for your stay, including a small fenced-in backyard & patio area with outdoor dining table, gas grille, and fire pit! Three bedrooms (2 queen + twin) and a convertible couch can comfortably sleep 5-6 guests. All modern conveniences are available including high-speed mesh Wi-Fi internet, new 55" HDTV (streaming services only), dishwasher, microwave, washer & dryer, etc. If you are traveling with small children, we have additional amenities available such as high chair, stroller, playpen, car seats... just ask, we probably have it!

Guest access:
We have parking in the driveway, which will accomodate 2 cars. Additional free parking is available on the street. Easily walk / jog / bike to the center of downtown, 6 short blocks away!

Other things to note:
This is not a party house! It is a quiet residential area. Please respect your neighbors and the community. We live very close by if any situation or emergency arises.

Lovely home!
We so enjoyed our stay in the Little Yellow House. The location was perfect for walkers like us. It was beautifully decorated and had a well-stocked kitchen. We enjoyed the coffee & tea! The Smart TV was easy to use and full of good options. There is a cute backyard too. Overall a terrific choice and we hope to return for another stay in the future.

This house is attractively furnished and appointed, with everything one needs. The sheets are very soft, the toiletries are good, there is plenty of bathroom vanity space, and there are even several night lights thoughtfully placed. We would be happy to stay here again.

Ferndale Getaway
We were visiting the area for a wedding and needed a home base. This house was perfect. Exactly as advertised, clean, perfectly located for easy access to Ferndale restaurants and shops and also downtown Detroit. It was so easy to have our disabled four year old here and the house was cozy and well stocked. The owners were super thoughtful and responsive. We will stay here again and recommend to everyone!

Perfect for us!
We were surprised and delighted with the house and location! The host was very accommodating to help with the comfort of our 1 yo - they supplied a pack and play, high chair, as well as toys. The place was very clean and decorated well. The fenced-in back yard was a joy for our toddler to explore. Will definitely plan on staying here again.

Adorable and clean house in a charming neighborhood.
This house was just as it looked in the listing. It was very clean and well stocked. The owners were great at communicating and very helpful. Walking distance to cute shopping and dining and an incredible bakery. Also a short drive to downtown Detroit, so we could easily get to those attractions but then return to the house as a peaceful oasis on the trip. Will definitely book again if back in Detroit.

Perfect Little House
So I ended up staying here alone for an entire week. It was the perfect little house and I could see renting it for a girls weekend or couples weekend. The furniture they picked out fits perfectly and I loved that laundry was on the first floor. Location was close to great restaurants & grocery stores. I felt safe and there were single women walking their dogs through out the neighborhood. Backyard was cute & it was nice knowing the neighbors were watching out for me as well since I was alone. Owners were easy to contact if needed. I would definitely rent again

Can’t wait to return. Love the decor, bed very comfortable, great neighborhood (walkable to many restaurants and a great grocery), spacious kitchen, safe feeling neighborhood, washer & dryer, and lots of nice features, including a work area. I only used the main floor (queen bed in one and twin in another).

Great stay
This house was perfect for our family trip. Our 7 & 4 year old were able to sleep comfortably in the basement , one in the big bed and one on pull out couch. I was able to easily cook some meals with all the cookware, pans, utensils etc. It was great to have a dishwasher and laundry to use. The backyard was nicely set up to eat with a big table. We walked to 9 mile a few times for shopping and restaurants. The owners were very kind, helpful and communicated things clearly. We would definitely stay here again if/when we come back to the area.

Exactly as described!
I’m a business traveler who is over staying at hotels. This was a perfect alternative! The pictures are exactly what you get. Super clean and cozy. The owners were highly communicative and the neighborhood was quiet. Ferndale has so many wonderful shops and restaurants which are only blocks from the house. You can also shop at the family owned Western Market grocery store that provides locally sourced items which is a plus!! I have a new home away from home!

Immaculate and cozy
We loved our two nights at the Little Yellow House. Outstanding was the quietness of the neighborhood (I don’t think I heard a single thing all night) and the exceptionally well provided-for and thoughtfully organized rooms. Also, it was utterly clean (looks newly renovated). The basement, with a tv room and third bedroom, doesn’t smell like a basement at all, and was as warm as the upstairs. Very comfortable throughout. The hosts were excellent communicators. Check in/out was smooth and easy. We’ve stayed in a lot of VRBOs and this was one of the best. Thanks! We would love to come back!

Fabulous and fun in Ferndale!
We were in the metro area for a Lions game and wanted a comfortable location to make it a couples’ weekend. We found this little yellow gem…and it was absolutely perfect. The house is adorable, well furnished and has everything you need for a home away from home. The owners are wonderful and we couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable and welcoming space. Ferndale is a quaint, artsy community with a spectacular downtown area (not far from the house). We found some amazing shops, restaurants, and adult beverage establishments that just added to the charm of the area. It was a quick/easy drive to the game…and we will definitely look to do it all over again in the future. Highly recommend. Thank you for everything!

Our stay at the house was perfect! The house is adorable, super clean, and has so many thoughtful amenities. It felt like a home away from home! The beds are very comfortable, and the location of the house is quiet. It was very peaceful. The fully-fenced backyard is cute and fun to hangout in.The hosts are so responsive and super friendly! Overall, one of the best VRBO experiences we have had and I sincerely mean that!
