Reserve your seat for a musical or some classic or contemporary drama at Mad Cow Theatre. The downtown performance venue presents masterpieces by well-known writers such as Chekhov and Tennessee Williams as well as maiden productions by new dramatists. There are two auditoriums with combined seating for more than 200 theater-goers. These are intimate spaces that put you close to the onstage action.
After a show, stay behind to quiz the actors about what you have just seen. These question and answer sessions take place every Thursday and Sunday night, except when there are previews. If you are there for an opening night, you will be able to enjoy complimentary champagne at a special reception with the cast.
Children over eight years of age are welcome to watch many of the theater’s productions, although some shows have sensitive themes. Consult the box office before bringing younger members of the family.
Pick up some acting skills by attending one of the drama workshops that are held from time to time. They are part of the theater’s enrichment program. Classes are free and there are separate sessions for teens and adults.
If you are in town during April and May, put the Orlando Cabaret Festival on your list of must-do activities. Across several weeks, international performers grace the theater’s two stages with jazz, pop, Broadway and comedy performances.
Mad Cow Theater is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Orlando. Get a bite to eat before a show at one of the nearby restaurants. Afterwards, stay out late to enjoy Orlando’s nightlife scene.
The theater is easily accessible by public transport, and two parking garages are connected to it by covered walkways. If you use the Central Parking Garage, you'll receive a discount on your parking ticket. Details of how to claim this are on Mad Cow Theatre’s website.
