The Space:
The Space
For 6 months I’ve dedicated my time to decorating the apartment in a way that does justice to such a magnificent building. My aim has been to offer you something luxurious yet completely different with a celebration of Manchester’s rich history. Only by booking can you bring these pictures to life. Expect a wonderfully unique experience with a high level of comfort and a tram load of character.
Relax: Take a seat in a historically iconic original Chesterfield wingback chair in Gin Corner, dim the lights and ask Alexa to turn the flickering fire on, play some jazz to unwind, take a book, or perhaps have a well-earned nap.
If you still have some energy after your day, tune into Netflix on the 50” 4K smart TV or ask Alexa for some music, a podcast or even a game. If an Alexa game isn’t your thing, then there’s Jenga, cards or a 1980s retro TV games console.
The comfort of your stay is important to me. I’ve made some bold choices with the décor, including some animal-based products such as leather seating, cow hide rug, peacock feathers and a sheepskin throw. Please bare this in mind if anyone in your group might not be comfortable with this.
Eat: Have some memorable meals and take a few photos sat at the original Singer sewing machine treadle-based oak dining table with a handmade loft-style ladder light above. The kitchen is fully equipped with a Nespresso machine, kettle, toaster, fridge, freezer, hob, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher and all the utensils, glassware and crockery you could possibly need. The cupboards are stocked with daily essentials such as tea, coffee, coffee pods, oils, herbs, salt, pepper etc.
Sleep: For a great night’s sleep, both bedrooms have king-size beds with bamboo fibre pocket-sprung orthopaedic mattresses with memory foam, 32” Smart HD TVs, hairdryers and universal power/ USB charging points (UK/EU/US).
Laundry: Perfect for longer stays - Should you need to do laundry there’s a washer/dryer with detergents, drying rack and iron/ironing board - all inside the apartment and free to use.
Travel: The apartment is a 2-minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station, which offers rail and tram connections to the airport, wider city and the rest of UK.
Accessibility: The apartment can be accessed via a lift to the 2nd floor, or by the stunning staircase. Please note, there is only 1 lift in the building, which is very rarely out of service although there is the small possibility it may be out of service when you visit. Please take this into account when booking if this could pose and issue for you.
Guest Access:
The whole apartment is yours to enjoy! If you require an earlier check-in, please contact us in advance.
The Neighborhood:
The apartment is located on the dividing line of two very different neighbourhoods...
PICCADILLY is a mix of chain hotels, corporate offices and mainstream high street retailers, whilst the NORTHERN QUARTER is the complete opposite, and is a mix of independent cafes, restaurants, bars, tea rooms, boutique shops and small businesses selling unique items.
The Northern Quarter has previously been described as "a centre of alternative and bohemian culture" which is fitting!
Getting Around:
WALK...
It is possible to walk to all parts of Manchester City Centre within 15 minutes. Its a concentrated place with lots of things to do within a very short walk!
