Beautiful property with stunning views. Beware, there are a lot of steps to climb. The main negative was that we had to scrub the fridge interior clean due to black mildew inside. Also, not one of the drip coffee machines worked. For the amount we paid I would expect the fridge to be clean and the appliances to be working.

Kitchen frying pans need to be replaced. Dishwasher did not work. Stove top does not have a lighter that works. Electric power was over loaded with air conditioners and tripped the circuit breaker several times. Refrigerator seemed to be not cold enough. Need bigger ice cube trays. Ants everywhere. A multitude of steps up to the villa. Tremendous views of the ocean. Richard

Our family of 15 stayed for 5 nights. All homes in area are off small, winding roads but we were able to get our two, 9-passenger vans to the property and parked onsite. Lots of stairs but manageable. New pool was a great surprise. Home amenities were not as luxurious as the views. Access to Massa Lubrense and Sorrento was easy to navigate. Markets/restaurants are close by and food/grocery delivery is available. Francesco was fantastic. Quick response and resolution to questions and minor issues in home.

A lovely and memorable vacation
Our host, Francesco, was exceptionally communicative and helpful, escorting us to the home and showing us around the property. He also provided numerous recommendations (shopping, restaurants, excursions, etc) to make our stay more enjoyable. Our teenagers loved being a few minutes from the shore, We swam, cooked, relaxed, and enjoyed that amazing view, and wish we could have stayed longer!

Francesco was very communicative before our stay. We booked the house almost a year ago and to our surprise, it had a pool when we checked in. We were a party of 7 and the house was great for our needs, although I would recommend staggering showers so you have enough hot water. Although beautiful, the location isn't really walkable to anything other than the local beach, so you need to either rent a car or hire a taxi/car service. Francesco's recommended car service worked great for us. As already noted, there are a lot of stairs to get up to the house.

Stunning
You will not be disappointed with your stay here. Francesco is an excellent communicator and if we had an issue or a question he addressed it very quickly. The views of Napoli and Capri are awesome and there is nothing like sitting on the deck drinking coffee and watching the boats take off from the harbor or the sun setting with a limoncello spritz. The rooms were well appointed and most of the bathrooms were modernized. The pool is clean and in a nice sunny spot on the property. There is a 2 car garage that was able to hold out VW Transporter with ease. It's 4o some steps from the garage the front door, but well worth the little hike. The drive off of the main road is steep and narrow but after a few navigations you get used to it. If you are going to utilize any shuttles they stay at the top and it is a hike to get there. We took the steps down to the sea to explore and it is rocky, however there are a few sheltered areas for swimming or sunbathing. It is a short walk down the beach (walkways the whole way) to the marina where you can enjoy 3 different restaurants. The ping pong table and fooseball table were a hit with our family as well. All in all, we loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone except those impaired by walking handicaps.

Property is lovely (lots of stairs!!) overlooking the sea. Kitchen is small, but adequate.
Host was there to greet us! Attentive to our needs/requests. Offered dining spots, locally. Property difficult for taxis to find, but that was also part of the charm. House is on multi levels, not wheelchair accessible or for people with an inability to climb. Beautiful porches off the house, facing the sea. Some noisy neighbors (we had sleeping babies in our group) and two dogs barking constantly (not the host’s issue), but it was annoying! Access to a beach a 5 minute walk from house: bring water shoes (rocky, but beautiful). House well-equipped with air conditioners! Every bedroom had a bathroom!! We paid extra for “sea towels” which is a must! Internet slow with lots of users, but it eased at night when fewer people were on it (we had people working while we were on vacation). No dryer on property. Adequate drying yard. Found washer to be fickle at times. Would be helpful to have two washers on a property this size! We loved our stay and would recommend this property for a large group! The sunsets were soooo lovely! Host is lovely! Property is well maintained!

Great location!
Location was fantastic and the villa was beautiful. Full of helpful amenities, including kitchen supplies, beach supplies, and A/C! Would absolutely recommend to someone looking to find a more quaint spot in Amalfi. One thing to note is there are MANY steep stairs and hills.

Outstanding location, beautiful views, lots of room
We had a great stay! Our two families, totaling 9, had plenty of room in the house. The bedrooms were great…cold AC and hot showers. We also enjoyed the incredible views on the large deck and comfortable chairs. We would sit on that deck for hours looking at the Mediterranean. The house is also a short drive from Sorrento.

Location, Location, Location. However, be prepared for some challenges.
We are very experienced travelers and we use VRBO for our large family vacations every other year (14 of us) and this house was great for a large group. The owner was right where he said he would be, and he was excellent. Excellent communications between us and if we needed anything he was right there. The property description is pretty right on, but we need to stress a couple of things. First, be in shape, or prepared to get into shape. Getting into the house requires a lot of stairs and climbing. Once in the house, you have even more stairs. We knew this going in, but didn't realize the challenge. Use caution when renting in July, hot and this home has some air conditioning but not enough to keep you cool. Take extra towels, if you are not ready to do laundry and air dry. There are few things you need to pack, toilet paper (why is most VRBO owners don't think about this for?) personal bug spray and games etc. Lot of misquotes and ground bugs. The owners tried, but trust me not nearly enough. This home is perfect for the mid range family, not really a kid play friendly place, unless they like to explorer the gardens. No house games or anything for after hours except for a chess set missing pieces. Driving, we had two cars and a 9 passenger van. Casr no problem, better be experienced in narrow road driving if you take anything bigger, we did fine, but you can expect challenges. Area grocery stores, limited so before you leave a larger community get the big items you might need. There are a couple smaller stores in town, but limited items. Day trips, perfect location for the coast and other tours. Book your own boat trips in the marina near the house, don't bother with the big guys in Sorento, we had a good luck locally. Local water access, go look at the ocean but stay out of the water. Not a beach, rocky, has an odor from the sea weed and not fun, nor easy to get to. 65 stairs just to get to the water front, or walk down the hill (and up) Well, to recap. Would we rent there again, probably not. Only because of the physical challenges we had. Would we recommend it, yes to experienced travelers. New folks to VRBO would be disappointed for the most part. We just went with the flow and had fun. Lastly, wonderful sunsets with a glass or two of wine is what gives it our 4 stars. Beautiful views of the Naples and Capri, grand old house on the coast!
We really enjoyed our stay in this house with family and friends in Massa Lubrense: the views from this property are simply amazing and access to a local beach/water is very close by! It s a grand old house built in 1960s and somewhat updated: a new kitchen is very nice and there is an ample supply of kitchenware, dishes and glasses for all occasions; however water and AC systems may be sub-optimal (especially for the US travelers). The Internet is based on a phone card and was down / very slow, but we managed to revive it (no more than 4 people at the same time could use it). The bedrooms are very nice with good quality bedding and sufficient supplies of towels. Most bedrooms have AC (but not all). All three levels are nicely furnished, there is a good laundry, multiple terraces with chairs and tables. A major problem were mosquito (despite a fumigator in every room!), so bring your protection and after-bite medicine! If you drive to the location - make sure that you have a very good and small car and a driver is experienced since the roads are curvy and narrow. Parking is good (2 garages and a space on the street). We traveled to Naples, Herculaneum, Pompei, Capri (by sea), Sorrento (for food and gifts shopping), Positano / Amalfi (for sightseeing and beaches) with ease - its all not far away. A current owner was very supportive and met us later than we expected to arrive with key, guidance to the house, full instructions, suggestions for local activities and a grate smile - thank you, Francesco!! I recommend this house for experienced travelers (groups, families, friends) who like proximity to the sea, local food, driving and sunsets!!

Family Reunion
Amazing and breath taking view in a charming small town just a few minutes away from Sorrento and Nerano. The owner was very accommodating and easy to contact. The house was large enough to accommodate our family of 13 with plenty of room for everyone. Raphael (the grounds keeper) and his sweet wife Maria were very helpful with any questions we had. There are beautiful gardens throughout the property. The beach is a short walk away downhill. The town is a short walk away uphill. Both are well worth the time. The master bedroom suite has air conditioning. We would 100% return to this home! Loved it!!!

Beautiful villa and an owner who goes above and beyond
The house was lovely, and Francesco was so helpful and accommodating. He worked with us when we needed to change the nights of our stay. Then we had a large van that couldn't fit on the steep, narrow street. He gave our group several rides to and from where we had to park. My advice is definitely stay here, just bring a small car!

Awesome property! Magnificent view to die for from any of the decks. Beyond my expectations, our attempts to capture the view with a camera never really did it justice. Tiled throughout kept it clean and nice. It was worth our efforts to get back at night just to catch the sunset! With that said, keep in mind the building is 50 years old and shows some age in some parts and is just simply ageless in others. Also it's Italy, no screens on the windows/doors. Hot water is over rated. The wifi has been added but is not as reliable or as fast as you might be accustomed too. Only suggestion I would have for Francisco would be to add an Italian style Keurig coffee maker which we experienced in an apartment we rented in Roma. Francisco, these units and their coffee pouches can't cost too much, but endear your guest throughout their stay if they prefer US style coffee and simplicily. Chris

Nice BUT.....................
While this home is huge and in decent shape it has many flaws that were not listed on the website. The house has a total of one fan for all the rooms, that is ONE fan not one for each room. The weather was extremely hot and humid which made living in this house for 5 days miserable. There was one air conditioner in one bedroom. That made this room the most popular. This was great BUT it caused the other major problems with this house that were unacceptable, the power went out in the house numerous times during the day and night. The owner sent people out to look at this problem but did nothing to fix it. He acted like this was the first time he had every heard of this problem. His family has owned this home for over 50 years, I have a hard time accepting that he has never had electrical issues before this week. One other strange issue was that fact that the owner would only supply one roll of toliet paper for each bathroom. We asked for more but we were told that we would have to buy more if needed. I have never heard of something like this before. The owner did not list the fact that access to this home is up 5 flights of stone steps. While I suppose this was not the fault of the owner the house was overun by ants. He supplied poison to kill them which worked but we had poison powder all over the kitchen everyday. We were also over run by mosquitos day and night. Again not the fault of the owner but becasue of the heat day and night and the lack of fans we had to leave the doors and windows open 24 hours a day. The mosquitos would not have been an issue if the owners would put screens on the doors and windows. I would say one of the best assets was the beach was walking distance. I am giving the house 2 stars because it was clean and the beach was close. While Francisco was a great guy I am sorry to say that I would not recommend this house to my friends.
