"Everything was wonderful except that it did mot feel like there was much recognition of VIP status. No bottles of wine were offered or room upgrade. We had to argue for the room we orginally paid for and also we were downgraded for the end of our stay. It felt like we paid a lot of money ($450/nt) to not be treated like anything special. $450 is a lot of momey in Portugal. or anywhere..it was disappointing. "I loved this hotel! The bed was so comfortable and breakfasts were delicious with a wonderful variety. I had a large sunny balcony and the views included the Duoro River. It was very close to all the major sites including the Riberia District. I walked everywhere. I had a very noisy neighbor and the hotel staff took care of the problem immediately. I would definitely stay here again."
