"This is a very nice hotel with great amenities, the only problem was the parking - we didn’t know it was across the street from the hotel. The street in front of the hotel is a one-way and is incredibly busy during rush hour, so we had to circle a couple of times before getting parked. We walked back from downtown in the evening and the area felt safe. Would definitely recommend this hotel."

"Really good stay, room was clean and quiet, couple of gifts and extra services (free snacks from 2pm to 9pm) made it even better. Location is also very good, everything is accessible walking, we just walked for the full stay"

"This is a nice hotel, convenient to much of Porto. Best for just a couple of nights- my stay was longer and I missed having a kitchenette or way to wash clothes- not the hotel’s fault- I should have considered those things when booking. But the staff is wonderful- obviously very well-trained; the on-site restaurant is really good- and it was a very comfortable room with a fantastic shower."

"We had a fantastic week's stay at the Porto AS 1829 Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable; the staff were extremely friendly and spoke perfect English; and the location was fantastic. Our bathroom could have done with a little maintenance - there was a bit of a leak at the bottom of the shower head, and from the sink's cold water tap - but this didn't detract from our stay. "What we liked is that this was a real neighborhood, not just a tourist area. It was an easy walk from the main train station connecting to Lisbon. the hotel itself is spanking brand new and the bed was big and comfortable. Also less than two blocks away was an amazing local bakery (Chicana) which was amazingly cheap for that quality of pastries, bread and coffee. Their English is limited, but you will be fine. "The staffs are friendly and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance to major landmarks and attractions. The hotel is very clean and there is a laundromat nearby (2 mins walk). The bathroom can use a better ventilator, it can get fogged up when you close the door completely when taking shower."
