126 feet of your own private shoreline with brand new deck screened in for your comfort! The perfect couples get away or a fun weekend with friends. Open year round. lovely 2 bed 1 bath (sleeps 4). 15 min to Rhinebeck and close to Bard College and the Omega Institute. Located in the beautiful Hudson Valley with all it has to offer! There are 2 kayaks, grill, hammock 2 decks to relax and watch the sun set.
We provide breakfast the first morning and a bottle of wine for your arrival.

Cute cabin with nice location for lakeside getaway
Cabin is situated on a very quiet private road. Peaceful location. Glad we read the reviews prior to arriving because we were glad we purchased water for drinking. The well water smell is not for everyone but we came prepared. I enjoyed a soak in the hot tub over looking the lake. Since it is the winter we didn’t use the lake or dock at all but I’m sure it’s nice in the summer. There were English muffins and eggs in the fridge, which was a nice touch. The place itself is not as up to date as the pictures, and some amenities such as the bbq are not well maintained. Overall we had a decent stay. The host was quick to respond to messages and access to the cabin was easy.

Teacher Get Away
A friend and I spent two nights at the cottage and it was the perfect R&R escape from NYC. We spent most of our time in the hot tub or drinking coffee with a water view. Highly recommend!

Girlfriends get away at the Lily Pad
We had a terrific long weekend at Lily Pad house. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, linens, etc. There were a few things that we noticed that might be addressed. On our first night there, the overhead primary light in the master bedroom went out. There was a leak from the ceiling outside the bedrooms and it continued to leak all weekend. Without a lot of light, it was not easy to see the water on the floor. We put down towels not only to soak up the water but to also make sure we saw the puddle and not slip. I called the owner who assured that someone would be called. No one ever came by to address the puddle or light. We ended up moving lamps for more light in the bedroom. The bathroom needed a good scrub. There was mold/mildew in the shower. The corners on the flooring around the tub were very dirty. There was an old dried up contact lens on the floor in the middle of the bathroom. We were not aware or prepared for the sulfur smell of the water and so we were all hesitant to shower due to the smell and the cleanliness of the bathroom. The enclosed patio looked like it hadn't been cleaned either. The furniture pillows were strewn about and items were left behind from previous guests. It looked like no one cleaned up after the previous guests. The location was lovely and conveniently located.

Cute place - needs Spring cleaning
The place was lovely and the back porch as well. But the bathroom was not clean, the water is extremely foul smelling and tasting. The owners really need to address this for future guests. The washing machine was visually moldy and stinky. The hot tub was so disgusting, yellow water and infested with insects. We would never go in it. The tree above it was infested with caterpillars which made the patio unusable due to caterpillar excrement all over. The grass wasn’t cut until the end of the week and the weeds were 2 feet high. There was poison ivy on the walkway to the patio. The chairs on the lower deck could not be used because they were dirty and looked like no one ever cleaned or took the cushions in. No one could sit on them. Also very little comfortable seating on the inside. The master bedroom bed had a body hole on one side of the bed. The mattress is pretty bad and the refrigerator had moldy food in it. The ceiling fan was squeaky and the light didn’t work and the master bedroom air conditioner was making a whining sound. For the price of this cottage, we didn’t expect to have to do so much cleaning when we arrived. This isn’t a complete list. We just would the owners to review as maybe they are not aware of some of these issues.

Just what we needed
Joni says "a book a lake and a hot tub, that's what I want. Check, check and check. The Lilly Pad was perfect. Clean, well appointed, and a screened in back deck perfect for chillin, if you do not want to walk down to the dock.

Very responsive property owner and cute spot -- we had miscommunication with booking but she took care of it right away. (One thing to note is that the well water has a strong sulfur smell if you are sensitive to that.)

Lovely Getaway - Wonderful Hot Tub
We had a wonderful time at the Lily Pad! The rental has two spacious comfortable bedrooms and a fully stocked kitchen. The hot tub is steps away and is wonderful! It was lovely to enjoy the hot tub while overlooking the beautiful lake below and the mountains across the way.

Great getaway
The family loved it here. Great view of the lake, the kids got to get real close and just take in the change of scenery. An absolute pleasure to stay here. Host had great communication and was very sweet. The wife didn't want to leave 😕, but there's always a next time.

Relaxing Getaway
What worked for our stay: - Complimentary English muffin, half stick butter, and eggs in fridge upon arrival - Complimentary bottle of red wine - Fully stocked kitchen in terms of spices, utensils, dish towels, dishwashing pods, cookware, dinnerware, extra paper towels (which proved very useful with younger kids in tow) - Soap for washing hands and dishes, shampoo & conditioner, & towels included, if needed - Beautifully maintained rooms - Gorgeous surroundings- lake was crystal clear! - Explicit instructions/details left throughout cottage - Access to various apps on TV - Immediate booking-information pertaining to stay provided by the host What did not work for our stay: - Green water in hot tub. We even left the lid off for a half hour at the suggestion of the property owner to no avail. It was maintained by the host that the water was fine, even though it was clearly green, as per several pictures taken. The water remained green throughout our stay, even with jets running for extended period of time to see if that might help. The host noted a new spa mixture that might have made it a bit foamy but foam was not an issue during our stay. We consider ourselves to be “low maintenance” people or at least try, as we do not like to complain or make a fuss and do not seek much in terms of material things, but the discoloration of the green water was not appealing. - The well water coming out of faucets (in kitchen and bathroom/shower) may be fine to consume, as insisted by the host, but it had a very strong sulfuric smell which was incredibly potent. We dealt with the smell as people who looked beyond it at the magical beauty of the well-maintained property and surroundings, but the smell was honestly very pungent. - There is unfortunately a house being built on neighboring property, closer to the lakeside, which is in the direct line of sight of the Lily Pad’s property, removing what seemed like at one time a more private experience. Note: There is also another small house/cottage that sits directly to the left of the Lily Pad’s property. Didn’t bother us but it was not visible in the pictures posted on VRBO, so thought it should be mentioned, as this also reduces privacy/seclusion.

This is our third visit to the area and third rental from these owners (different properties). Great location to see so much in the area. Perfect for a long weekend getaway, particularly in the fall. Don't pass this one by!

The Lily Pad was the perfect home base during our weekend visit to Bard. The house was spotless and cozy, and we loved reading on the porch and enjoying the gorgeous view! A very special, peaceful spot.

Quiet and Comfortable
Very nice, dog friendly, cottage on the lake located on a quiet, dead end road. The hot tub was warm and waitng for us to enjoy and there is a nice sitting area lakeside. Owners were friendly and communicated well. The local area is absolutely beautiful. The only downside was that the (completely safe) well water has a strong odor, so I bought water to drink and cook with. Very enjoyable stay.

Cozy Peaceful cottage
The cottage was located down a lovely, peaceful gravel road. It was nicely decorated and furnished, very comfortable and clean. After busy workshops at the Omega Institute , my friend and I enjoyed coming back to our little home to rest and regroup. Unfortunately, a main reason we chose this house was to enjoy the hot tub at night, but found the patio area to be messy and the hot tub to be extremely small, dirty and had an extremely strong chemical smell. We only used it the one short time because of this and were disappointed to not have it to enjoy for the rest of our stay. Everything else was great though but felt the house was priced too high without having a better hot tub experience.

Peaceful cottage on the lake
We spent a wonderfully relaxing week at the Lily Pad! The home is very clean and comfortable - even better than it looks on line. It is very quiet, on the lake and off a small private road so no traffic. We spent most of our time swimming and lounging, but red hook and the surrounding area has great spots to explore. Yes, there is a house being built on a neighboring property, but it is mostly hidden by trees and there was almost no noise from it. They worked just one day while we were there, and even then it was not at all disruptive to the peace and quiet. Overall just a great stay, and we hope to be back!
