Le Macine, is an ancient, skilfully and respectfully restored watermill. It offers hospitality in a relaxed atmosphere within the hills of Volterra. Surrounded by a romantic nature. A refreshing swimming pool (length/large 10 per 5 meter; deep 1,20 at 2,20 meter), private parking, balcony and a huge garden promise a beautiful and relaxed vacation. Le Macine was built on 3500 square meters, which are fully at your disposition. Nobody else is in the house. The house's living area is about 160 square meters large. The house consists of1 Bedroom with one double bed and one single bed; 1 Bedroom with one double bed; 1 Bedroom with one single bed and one Bunk bed (or we can prepare it only with one double bed); a huge living room, a big kitchen, (a dishwasher is included) and an enormous terrace, which offers you the possibility to have a BBQ or to just relax and enjoy the nature.The garden is ideal for children and the whole family, who will love the pool.Pets are welcome.

Wonderful place in Tuscany
We stayed here for 10 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the Villa, the Tuscan ambiance and the close proximity to Volterra. The house manager, Allisandro (Alex) was a great host. Flawless communication, friendliness, attention to our needs and providing local advice were all excellent and appreciated.

Lovely Tuscan Holiday
We had a wonderful holiday at Le Macine. The pool and house were great. And Alessandro the host was very helpful and we enjoyed a lovely meal at his nearby restaurant. We hope to come back again in the future.

Amazing Tuscan Retreat
This place was so amazing. It is very large and appropriate for 5-6 adults. Volterra is a wonderful Tuscan town with cafes, shops, restaurants and groceries. The check in process was seamless and we used WhatsApp for communication throughout our stay. Alessandro was amazing and very accommodating. His recommendations for eating and what to see were very helpful. I highly recommend this place as it is close to Pisa and Frienze.

This is an away from it all house but in striking distance of everything great about Tuscany
We had a lovely winter break in this house. The house was great for exploring Volterra, San Gimignano and we also easily managed Siena and Florence for the day. The house is quiet and away from it all - but equally less that 10 minutes to Volterra. February turned out to be a great month to visit these historic towns as they remained cool and with far fewer tourists. Nice house in a fantastic part of the world.

A beautiful and relaxing experience in Volterra
We spent 2 very relaxing weeks in Le Macine Agriturismo. The villa is ideally located at approximately 1 hour from many beautiful Tuscan cities and villages, Pisa, Sienna, San Gimignano, and even Florence. It is 10 minutes away from the beautiful Etruscan and medieval village of Volterra. The house is very comfortable, perfectly clean and ideal for a relaxing stay. The garden is wide and very well maintained with a comfortable swimming pool. You can easily make very nice walks in the Tuscan countryside starting from some trails around the house. A special thanks to our host, Alessandro, always available, who provided us with excellent recommendations.

The house is old, dark and musty. It was obviously not cleaned before our arrival. Neither the dishwasher nor the washing machine could be used because the fuses did not allow it. The fridge also broke down in the middle of our stay. A noisy road runs right past the house. Construction work was going on in the neighbouring property of the landlords for 2 weeks during our holiday - it was very noisy. The hosts are trying hard, but the price-performance ratio is not right at all. The pool is very nice, though 🙂

Wonderful stay in a wonderful place
We booked this house for our vacation for one week at the beginning of May. We were three adults and three dogs and we really enjoyed our stay. The House: The house is a typical Tuscan historic water mill, which has been newly renovated. It has got three bedrooms and a bathroom in the upper level, a fully functional and equipped kitchen, a living area and another bathroom in the ground level. Everything is clean and the furniture is nice. You don't have to bring your own towels or bed linen, as everything is already there. In the front of the entrance you find a big patio with table and decoration. Behind the house another patio offers the opportunity for BBQ in the shade. There are no other visitors who you would have to share the house with, so we had it all just for our own. The garden and pool area: The Villa has got a really nice and big garden, which the owners really take a lot of care of. The garden is all fenced and only for the visitor's purpose: Really nice for our three dogs, who could do whatever they want, but also nice if you want to do some sports like soccer or badminton. There is also the possibility to play table tennis. The pool area is situated in the upper half of the garden and very nice and clean. It is a fully grown swimming pool with a maximum depth of 2.20 meters. There are several deck chairs and a cool shower. Bring your own towels for the pool. The surroundings: The house is situated just a few kilometers away from Volterra in a small valley, very nice and calm. There are trees, flowers and birds everywhere. The street isn't loud at all with only very few traffic. Next to the house is only one neighbor: Up the hill lives the grandmother of the owner. The location of the house offered us the opportunity to visit Volterra, San Gimignano and the sea at Cecina or Piombino. Siena, Pisa and Florence aren't far away too. The house is ideally located for having day trips and do sightseeing if you want. The owners: Marzia and her family run a nice restaurant 10 kilometers away from the house. When you arrive, Alessandro guides you to the house and shows you everything. They are very nice and polite people who really care about their visitors. Whenever there was a problem whatever kind, Alessandro was there for us. They also invited us to their restaurant and served a really nice dinner. Thank you! We are surely going to come back next year and had a wonderful time without any complaints at this really nice place.

Alles war wie in der Beschreibung. Straße war etwas laut, hat uns aber nicht gestört. Das Ferienhaus an sich war super schön. Manchmal kam leider der Geruch der Kanalisation vorbei, daran haben wir uns gewöhnt. Ohne Geruch hätte es 5 Sterne gegeben. Gastgeber war super, immer erreichbar und hilfsbereit.

Toskana Live
Sehr schönes und gemütliches Haus mit einem riesigen Grundstück. Es liegt direkt an einer Straße, was uns aber überhaupt nicht gestört hat. Es ist so gut wie nicht einsehbar, also hat man eine Menge Privatsphäre. Der Pool wurde jeden Tag genutzt, was bei den Temperaturen auch Pflicht war. Alex war ein sympathischer und aufmerksamer Gastgeber, den man jederzeit erreichen und mit Fragen löchern konnte. :-) Sein Premium-Tipp, das Landschaftsschutzgebiet "Masso delle Fanciulle" zu besuchen, war eines der Highlights. Fazit: absolut zu empfehlen....

Spacious, well equipped villa
Le Macine is a really lovely place to stay. The villa is large, with 3 evenly sized bedrooms, 2 fully equipped bathrooms and plenty of social entertaining space. The air conditioning was very effective and welcome and Wi-Fi good. Outdoors, there is a substantial garden and the pool itself is large for a villa - have been to hotels with smaller pools! Eating outside was great in the evening, with the separate doorway to the kitchen also great. Everything was clean and we did have everything we needed. We did need to buy e.g. washing up liquid, oil, etc so do bear that in mind. Location-wise, Volterra is around 15 minutes drive away, where there is also a well-sized Conad supermarket. It is on a main road, which is good for getting around but can be noisy at some times of the day. Alessandro was a very attentive host, and popped by a few times to check everything was going well. We went to his Agriturismo one evening for a meal around 500m up the road, which was an amazing experience.

We had a lovely week staying here end of May. The property is just as seen in the photo's. It is a great location to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside and towns. The kids loved splashing in the pool. Alex the host was very relaxed and helpful. We would definately return in future given the chance.

Sehr ordentlich, Lage jedoch zu laut
Gleich zu Beginn: Das Haus liegt in einem Tal direkt vor einer Kurve an einer kleineren Straße nach Pisa und zu einem Gewerbegebiet auf ungefähr 120 Meter Seehöhe. Die Straße wird oft befahren. Am Wochenende sehr gern von lauten Motorrädern. Es ist erst abends richtig ruhig. Der Pool ist nicht beheizt. Die Internetverbindung ist miserabel, auch im Haus mit gut erreichbarem Wi-Fi. Hätten wir das gewusst, hätten wir es nicht gemietet. Die Kommunikation und der Empfang mit dem Gastgeber war sehr ordentlich und perfekt. Das Haus in der Toskana in Volterra war sehr sauber, gepflegt und das Anwesen selbst war auch sehr gepflegt. Die Innenausstattung des Hauses ist gut. Die Küchenausstattung ist hinsichtlich Kochmesser (unscharf), Besteck und Töpfe leider unzureichend. Zwei Bäder sind großzügig und schön. Jedoch sind die Duschkabinen viel zu klein. Es wäre viel mehr Platz für komfortable Duschen. Die Betten waren für Erwachsene bedauerlicherweise nicht bequem. Durch die Konstruktion mit nur einer Matratze rollt man im 1,80 m Doppelbett automatisch in die Mitte und die Unterkonstruktion ist nicht sehr stabil. Der Vermieter hat auf unsere Bitte hin versucht, das zu korrigieren. Ungünstigerweise erfolglos. Wir haben uns das dann anders arrangiert. Da wir häufig unterwegs waren und Urlaub machen wollten, haben wir es uns erspart, das Haus zu reklamieren. Freundlichkeit, Empfang waren ausgezeichnet. Ruhe, Lage, Bettenqualität & Sanitär haben nicht unsere Erwartungen erfüllt.

Traumhaftes Toskanaflair
Alessandro war ein super Gastgeber und immer gleich zur Stelle wenn wir Fragen hatten. Das Haus ist etwas älter aber genau wie beschrieben. Wenn man die Einfahrt rauf fährt ist man angekommen in der wunderschönen Toskana. Der Pool war rießig und sehr sauber! Auch der Garten ist sehr gepflegt und aufgeräumt! Alles in allem ein traumhafter Urlaub, der leider schon vorbei ist!

Typisch toskanisches Bauernhaus
Ein typisch, toskanisches Bauernhaus mit viel Garten und einem Pool lädt zu einem erholsamen Urlaub ein. Wir haben im August eine Woche bei durchschnittlich 35 Grad im Schatten hier verbracht. Nach eher kurzen Ausflügen in die Umgebung haben wir viel Familien-Zeit auf der Veranda und am Pool verbracht. Nicht nur der Pool sondern auch der Tischkicker und die Tischtennisplatte unter dem riesigen Nussbaum waren der absolute Hit für unsere Kinder und uns. Das Haus haben wir nur zur Nacht „benötigt“ und tagsüber verschlossen, dunkel und damit halbwegs kühl gehalten. Es ist an sich nicht super luxuriös, sondern eher für die Toskana typisch und einfach aber gut eingerichtet. Wichtig: in den Schlafzimmern gibt es Klimaanlage. Der Gastgeber Alessandro war sehr nett und zuvorkommend, hat sich gut um uns und unsere Fragen gekümmert und uns viele Tipps für Ausflüge und Restaurants gegeben. Er hat uns sogar mit frischen Tomaten und Eiern versorgt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt…

Einfach traumhaft! Tolles Haus in bester Lage!
Wir waren in den Pfingstferien 2023 mit zwei Erwachsenen und drei Kindern in diesem großartigen Haus und hatten eine wundervolle Zeit. Das Haus ist noch schöner als auf den Fotos. Insbesondere der riesige und sehr gepflegte Garten ist auf den ersten Blick beeindruckend. Der Pool ist modern und sehr schön angelegt. Er wurde von uns täglich genutzt. Das Haus selbst ist größer als erwartet und bot für fünf Personen mehr als ausreichend Platz. Die Ausstattung ist gut und es ist alles da was man benötigt. Auch für die Kinder war viel geboten, vom Tisch-Kicker im Wohnzimmer bis zur Tischtennisplatte im Garten. Da kam keine Langeweile auf! Alessandro ist wirklich ein sehr netter Gastgeber. Er war nie aufdringlich, aber kümmerte sich um den Pool, war jederzeit erreichbar und gab uns gute Tipps für die Umgebung. Über die Lage muss man nicht viel sagen. Man ist hier wirklich mitten in der Toskana. Volterra selbst ist nur ca. 8 Minuten entfernt. Für Ausflüge waren wir unter anderem in Florenz, Siena und San Gimignano. Alle Städte sind gut mit dem Auto erreichbar. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung für dieses schöne Haus!
