Welcome to Black Horse Cabin 1 by Tiny Away! We're just a short half-hour drive north of Auckland CBD, nestled in peaceful countryside of North Island New Zealand. Our location boasts ponds, birds, ducks, geese, sheep, and pine forests, creating a serene environment.
Close by, Black Horse Academy specializes in training Polocross and Polo horses, led by Errol Gloyn, coach of New Zealand's World Cup Polocross team. You're welcome to observe polo horse training sessions.
The Space:
Black Horse Cabin 1 by Tiny Away sits in the countryside of Waitoki, North Island New Zealand. A charming tiny home with glistening, calm pond views and a spacious lawn area for your family and children to unwind. If you're lucky, you can even find Kingfisher, Fantail, and other native birds in the area. When life gets too busy, our tiny house therapy offers a peaceful escape for relaxation and healing!
A safe sanctuary with an electric security gate and fully fenced and just 36 minutes away from Auckland. Along with several stunning beaches in the area such as Orewa Beach, Browns Bay, Long Bay, and Takapuna Beach, all while being just a stone's throw away from the excitement of the Eventfinda Stadium and its many upcoming events from February to November.
A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home that that invites guests to savor countryside views, with the chance to feed and interact with horses, enhancing the overall experience of the property.
Complete with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be advised that we have 3 other tiny houses named "Black Horse Cabin 1, 2 & 3" respectively. If you want to book in groups, please contact your land host 24 hrs in advance to make arrangements.
Guest Access:
Guests will have easy access to the tiny house follows the signs. For your safety, please don't enter horse paddocks. Horses training areas should not be entered without the owner's permission as it is a sensitive and working area.

Our holiday homes NZ escape is just a 20-minute drive from Orewa and a 36-minute drive to Auckland (off-peak). Experience golden beaches, adventure parks, small-town friendliness, and urban forests as you explore the expansive region of Silverdale and Waitoki.
Our local recommendations:
• Orewa Beach is known for its long golden sandy beach. It has beginner-friendly surfing and plenty of beautiful cafes and restaurants with cuisines from around the world - 15-20 minutes drive.
• Wainui Golf and Function Centre is a stunning golf course opening 7 days a week. The Wainui Restaurant within the country club is another handy food option as well - 10 minutes drive.
• Snowplanet is New Zealand's only indoor snow resort, offering year-round skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing. With a 200-meter slope, terrain park, and dedicated beginner area, it's perfect for all skill levels.
• Ōmeru Reserve presents walking trails, native bush, and the stunning Waitangi Falls. The reserve features historic pā sites, picnic areas, and opportunities for birdwatching. It's an ideal spot for nature lovers.
• Browns Bay is known for its stunning shores with a collection of shops, and there is also an incredible Sabayjai Thai Massage.
• Takapuna Beach is another vibrant beachside destination, can walk the length of the beach and has an unique North-side view of Rangitoto island, only 10 minutes from Auckland's CBD.
• Riverhead Forest is an urban forest tucked between farmland and expanding greenfields, perfect for cycling trails and bushwalks.
• Long Bay is a stunning stretch of beach perfect for picnics, swimming, and is near Long Bay-Okura Marine Reserve, which provides amazing opportunity for watersports.
• Onepoto Domain is a large public outdoor space spread out among shrubs and bushes around a lake. There is an outdoor playground, cycling track, large slide, and more.
• Adventure Park Auckland is an entertainment park that attracts all walks of life, from adrenaline-pumping rides to activities for the family, there is something for everyone.
• Eventfinda Stadium is an indoor arena that hosts both sporting events and live music performances. Some notable past performers include Bob Dylan, Sting, Macy Gray, and Green Day.

Getting Around:
By car:
• From Auckland CBD, it’s a 30 minutes drive off-peak time, 32 km.
• From the nearest town Silverdale, it’s a 10 minutes drive, 10km.
• From Orewa, it’s a 14 minutes drive, 14km.
• From Albany, it’s a 18 minutes drive, 18km.
• We are reachable by both 2WD and 4WD car.
By public transport:
• From Auckland CBD, take the NX1 to Hibiscus Coast Bus Centre (terminal to terminal), please let us know in advance and we can arrange to pick up the guests from Hibiscus Coast Bus Centre.
Other Things to Note:
- Free potable water
- Wifi is not available
- Pets are not allowed
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- No smoking allowed; there are designated smoking areas.
- Please expect limited connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality.
- Mobile Reception for Vodafone, 2degrees, and Spark is good; Telstra and Optus has no signals.
- Don’t forget to close the windows and lock doors when leaving the tiny house/property.
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g., especially chargers).
- We would like to advise guests that extended stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge.
Important note:
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property.
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban.
- For stays of 5 nights or more (or for bookings of 5 nights or more), an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
