"The casita de playa was breathtaking, waking up every morning with the sound of waves, animals, and the warm ocean breeze was a life changing experience. Being able to cook breakfast and rinse off in my own private space on the beach could not be matched. The proprietors and family who manage the hotel were extremely kind, knowledgable, and helpful. The body and facial services from Eliel and Marcos were so wonderful, I left feeling like a new person. I wish I could live here."

"Beautiful little hideaway not too far from the beach and restaurants, surrounded by mountains and trees, crickets and roosters! The staff were all so friendly and accommodating. The only minor issue was the friendly cleaning staff that would knock incessantly at my door while I slept through the mid-day heat, just to change my towel and sheets each day. A "do not disturb" sign would have been very useful. "

"I could not rave about this property, staff and overall experience more. It was heaven on top of a hill with stunning beach views from my room and complete peace above the beautiful town of Zipolite. To be able to go have a fun day down on the beach either relaxing or filled with local activities and then retreat up to the Aikia was a dream. "Had a great time at Descalzo! Will definitely go back next time in Zipolite. Beautiful facilities. Reception staff could communicate/coordinate better amongst themselves - one person tells you one thing and another tells you they have no idea what their colleague promised. Only comment is that the food at the bar and restaurants associated to the hotel are pricey compared to options nearby and service wasn't always great."
