"I recommend room 2. The bedroom was spacious and has a separate lounge with a sink which was very useful. Everything was clean and tidy. The food is excellent. We ate there every night as there seemed little point in searching elsewhere! There are two cask beers which were both in good condition during our stay. Not surprising as the bar / restaurant area was busy with locals and guests every night. Breakfast excellent too. Relaxing atmosphere. We’ll be back."

"We stayed at the hotel many times over the last few years as its close to family in Tongwynlais. The old decor has been completely redone and the hotel is looking amazing. We had a problem with our booking but the staff were very helpful and made sure that our stay was a good one. I'd recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the local area. It did however get quite noisey on Saturday evening with lots of partying in the rooms."

"Good value hotel about a mile from the city centre. Doors are all combination so there is no worry about losing the key. Room had to be reprogrammed but the staff did this quickly and cheerfully. Very helpful and welcoming."

"We had an overnight stay here which was very convenient for seeing a concert at Utilita Arena in Cardiff. The check in was very fast. The manager was very friendly and helpful by carrying our luggage to our room. The room is clean and comfortable. The full English breakfast was very good and served piping hot. I highly recommend this hotel/pub. "

"This is a modest, small place. Not really a hotel at all - more a case of Pub with Rooms. We were shocked when we asked, "What time do you serve breakfasts?" A reasonable question? "We don't do breakfast!" was the reply. The (friendly) manager waved her hand vaguely out of the window and told us of a cafe, supposedly a short walk away. We managed to get milk and next morning, made a cuppa and set of to find the breakfast cafe. After a fifteen minute hike we found ourselves well into Penarth...

"Excellent! Great communication from Richard. Phone call to check we were happy with the entry instructions. Everything was left for us to access the property with our emailed instructions. The apartment had a great location, easy walk into town but in a quiet street so away from the noise. Not far from the castle and park also. The apartment was spotlessly clean with lovely towels and bedding. We were very impressed and will definitely recommend it to others and will come back to stay...

"Excellent communication throughout. Fantastic location,easy walk to city centre or no6 bus almost outside the door or a boat trip round the bay and up the Taff to the Principality Stadium. Apartment was spacious and had everything we needed, with so much choice of eateries on the doorstep at Mermaids Quay no cooking was necessary but there was a full sized oven, microwave and toaster in the kitchen. "
